How to banish a ghost cat?

just an update...

holy crap! it is a cat! I kid you not I got my own absolute proof last night. I sort of said out loud in my head "ok if there is a cat I will allow you to be here" or something to that effect. Immediately, I felt paw prints coming up my blanket, I felt it rest on top of my legs and felt the warmth, and I even felt it purring! I kid you not! that was like a holy moment for me! totem or not that is freakin cool.

If that is all it is doing, I would not even attempt to banish it. Rather, I would welcome it in. You never know what benefits it may bring.

Still, let's here what woodwytch has to ´say about the matter. And, take her advice. She knows her stuff.

You know, actually you could be right. Several years ago I had a cat that died. He was a black cat named Buddy. He had more of a dog type personality as he was much more affectionate than most cats. He always slept on my side of the bed. I could still feel his presence (I know that sounds nuts) for a few days after wards. So I just patted him like I did when he was still here and then it stopped. I felt it was kinda like he was saying goodbye. It actually helped me feel better too. Hope this helps.

Hummm, not a bad thought. The problem is-is getting rid of that damned sticky stuff after. And it is a bitch to wash out of yor clothes. Remember to buy a bottle of vanish.

That's funny. My cat used to love cheese. She would eat those creamed cheese triangles as if they were going out of fashion.

Your welcome Eonn its all my true story. thet hing it, it was eating away at me for so many years, like i gotta know again, too just know! Lorraine had told me, by merely watching the tape, i can re open a door again, with what she felt , was a maleovent spirit. but its a risk im willing to take. even by watching it at a freinds place, it can come back fllow me home, and same things can happen again, or worse. I dont remmebr her saying it was a demon,, becuase thats not how they work. demons confuse you n break you down, yuor will and belif in god so your defense is shattered, then do as they pleae with you. so whatever that tall claoked thing was is beyond me..but i did not like what i felt that day and moment int he baement..seeing it standing thier starring at me all serious, feeling a lelvel of fear like that it inflicted on me. i dotn know what it was and what it wanted with me.
my favorite cat i had to have put to sleep, 2009. we were the best of friends, and he was my most loved of anything in life. orange cat. stomach cancer which casued him to degrade terribly, and being 16 years old..it wasbeyond heartbreaking to make a decision that was humane.
after a few days i think it was maybe a week,..i ahd one of those dreams* that seemed like it was real, like you were really thier. was on my bed, and my cat, oscar, came up to me, smiling checking me out, kissing my face with his nose..then i woke up...seemed so real! i felt his presence after wkaing up thinking it was real. im still heartbroken over him.

Hey there,

I have lived in several properties where Ghost Cat's dwelt ... and as you can see from the responses you have received so far they are very common.

I'm not really sure why you want to be rid of this particular ghost cat as he doesn't seem to be causing any real problems

If you are adamant about getting rid of him let me know and I will give you details of something you can try ... however, the fact that you say you have already tried several tried and trusted methods to banish him and he still remains tells me that there may be a reason for it ... possibly on a personal to you level ... but more likely as a Gatekeeper to the property.

Remember cats were considered sacred by most anciernt civilizations and not just because of their ability to control the mouse population !

The Celts considered cats to be 'Guardians of The Otherworld'

Whilst Romans considered them to be 'Guardians of The Home'

The Norse considered them to be the 'Protectors of Newborns'

And the Egyptians held them in such high regard that when they died they were mummified with the same respect given to the Pharaoh.

This cat in your home may have been the Gatekeeper since the property was built ... or even before that ... and that might be for a reason.

Please consider your decision seriously before acting ... let me know what you decide

Thanks for replying woodwytch, I think you could be right. After doing some of my own research I found the same things about cats, what they symbolise and represent. I'm not going to try banishing it, it is probably there for my own good. I was wondering though if you were at all psychic woodwytch? and if possible could you lend me some advice by u2u? I just seem to be going through a lot of turmoil lately and need to know what I can do about it.

Try me ... I always feel awkward saying I'm psychic because of the image such admissions usually create (new-age charlatans spring to mind) ... for example I could not sit opposite someone and tell them what was happening or going to happen in their lives with 100% confidence ... however, when I am specifically approached and asked for help, then information seems to come to me (if that is psychic then yes I am psychic ... but personally I prefer not to stick a label on the ability).

Just the way it happens I know not why ... but when I am approached the things that I get have been very accurate and relevent ... so I offer no guarantee to my 'psychic' abilities but I can assure you that whatever is discussed between us in private will remain private and I will advise you to the best of my ability.

Also remember that besides coming at things from a pagan / paranormal angle I am also a registered therapist with a great deal of psychological knowledge under my belt ... and I tend to use a combination of all to find solutions.

So, if my credentials sound like the kind of thing you are looking for then by all means u2u me and I'll help if I can.

Hey, I got one of those ghost cats. Yeah, I know, it sounds weird, since I have no pets. Little guys? no problem, only shows up when I go to bed. Soon as I shut off the light and lay down, he'll jump up on the bed and starts walking around. One night I put my hand under where he was walking and he's got some weight to him If I move, he'll run an jump off the bed ( You can hear him hit the floor), then he jumps back on the bed and usually settles down near my side. If he wants to be annoying, he'll walk across my stomach to the other side then go back again.
When he/it first showed was when I was living in an apartment about fourteen years ago and he came about every night, now I've moved into a new home twelve years ago and he seems to of followed me here but I've noticed that the times he shows up are getting further apart. He's been visiting for about 14 years total.

I hope if my cats that have passed on, are around where they passed, that no one would banish them

But I agree, you shouldn't banish it, I could not have pets where I lived in Philly but had the ghost cat, it comforted me as I missed my cats that I had always had. I am a cat person and love snuggling with the fuzzy furry felines when I would read the ghost cat would even do what my real cats did, plop on the book, but with the ghost one I could continue reading!

ill give you a good point no more ghost mice or rats but the real thing is just do how you would with a human ghost but then who does not wont a dead cat as a pet i would

I think i have a ghost cat or two, i will frequently see a flash of tabby go by a door out the corner of my eye, my two current cats are black and white and my previouse cat who died 10 years ago was tabby. I will also some times feel a cat res on my bed next to me even when my door is closed.

I think my youngest cat has played with him or sees him, or it could be another cat he see's. last year I had a cat that lived down the road always coming into my yard and hanging out with my older cat (before we got the kitten) but the owners had to move away and took him with them, he was a black cat always freindly and i miss him. a month ago i found out he had died and since i have seen a black cat out of the corner of my eye.

Amazing post! I've felt the ghost of my first pet dog for years sleeping near my pillow and the bed would move. She stayed with myself and the family for a while.

A family member of mine recently was in contact by a kitty who passed about a day before he felt her presence. Her energy was so strong that he lifted her up, at that time thinking maybe that was his other tabby cat-but she was sound to sleep. He's fully convinced(though, I was not there) that it was his cat that passed away. She was very lively and young(until she passed from a sudden illness-couldn't save her at the Vet). Because of her energy level, I believe she manifests to him with ease, possibly saying goodbye to him or did not fully know she was not alive anymore(similar to human souls who stay around for a while). Since that day the kitty has not been in contact, as if she passed over.

I agree with others in the thread, I would 't outright banish or clean the spirit. Unless the cat seems tortured, but... maybe she/he needs comfort to find their way.

I have heard that your spirit guide can appear in animal form.....or your gaurdian...maybe this is it??
