I watch this site quite often as well. The magnetic lines seem to be going a little haywire as normal. I absolutely agree that lately the pressure
getting into the white range is new. Take a look at March 11, 2011 19:00-23:50 UTC. This is one of the bigger "hits" I've seen. I'd be very worried if
the the red magnetic lines flipped to the top and blue to the bottom for a significant period of time.
I was just studying up on Solar Flares. I find it interesting how scientists believe an event called "Magnetic Reconnection" is responcible for
causing them.
en.wikipedia.org...
( I apologize for the wiki link, but for this purpose it should be good enough, feel free to further investigate)
Am I crazy for thinking that if Magnetic Reconnection can cause such a violent responce on the sun, that pehaps it can do the same, albeit on a much
smaller scale, here on Earth? When these Solar Winds smash into Earth the magnetic field is disturbed. Many of the more powerful Solar Winds appear to
make the magnetic lines go haywire. Could a "Magnetic Reconnection" be happening on Earth after some of these disturbances. If so, perhaps it causes
Earthquakes when the Magnetic Reconnect happens below a high pressured fault line.
Please don't bash me for sharing my thoughts.
