The officials say that the inner reactor container is safe after this newest explosion, but their credibility after the past couple of days needs to be questioned. It is obvious that getting the truth out so that everybody can take necessary actions is not a top priority of whoever is in charge right now.

Soldiers and officials in northeastern Japan are warning residents that the area could be hit by another tsunami and are ordering residents to higher ground.

news.yahoo.com...-container

Notice it says "could"? Obviously everyone knows that it could happen again...but another strong earthquake is going to be needed. I'm thinking this has more to do with the nuclear plants myself.

For some people its just an expresion, not all of course. Im not religious and I say "oh my god" and "thank god" and things like that all the time. Not saying this is the case with everyone just saying it happens.

I'll agree with that, they must be careful not to lose credibility. I can't imagine the amount of stress that Japan;'s government is facing at the moment, but they must be truthfull in their reports

Gotta have faith in the goodness of people...Japan has plenty of that. Here in the US however....all one needs to do is watch some political television to see how "great" and "unselfish" we are as we rip apart our own country.

Hoping for the best.

I've been reading so much I can't remember the name of the thread, but they quoted a news report in which scientists stated a 8.0 had a very high likelihood of happening (70% I believe was their figure) as an aftershock of this megaquake.

What startled me about that was the fact that the reactors were built to take on a 7.9 quake and then be repaired. Not hit with a 9.1, a tsunami, explosions, and no repairs.

I bet everyone in the Japanese government is skittish right now. They have to know that they aren't out of the woods yet, and they just can't seem to catch a break. I mean come on, they just had another reactor building blow up and are finding village after village that was buried. Their luck needs to change soon, and they will need the balance of the year to really stand a chance of getting back to anything close normal.

The best thing anyone could do if they were in Japan and able to go anywhere would be to leave. Other than that heading to high ground is the best they can do right now. Another tsunami could happen at any time. With the chaos already evident if that were to happen then...things would truly be catastrophic.

03.28 gmt: Seven people are missing and three people have been injured by the explosion at the Fukushima 1 nuclear plant, the AFP news agency reports, quoting an official from Tepco, the company which operates the plant.

Sorry, but that's a load of crap.

Their credibility is not an issue. The western media has been reporting news late, or reporting news that has been unconfirmed as fact, and engaging in speculation as fact - only to be presented with information that deviates from the story that THEY are presenting.

Case in point: This thread.

I'm in Japan. I'm in the north, in a coastal area. We had a tsunami on Friday. I've been watching the news all morning, and like everyone else in the area, I've been listening for tsunami warnings.

None were issued. I certainly wouldn't have missed it. One network was mentioning that there was potential of a tsunami for about a minute or so, but that was quickly retracted. No tsunami warning was issued. Our sirens didn't go, the tsunami graphic didn't come up on TV, my cellphone alert didn't fire. Nada.

But the cable news channels abroad reported it as fact to keep the disaster porn flowing.

Whose credibility does that reflect?

Maybe more people SHOULD be bringing God into this. Not to derail thread, but if you are going to knock down God, in a situation like this, I can not hold my tongue . The original poster was sincere, your post was just hateful.

What I believe does not matter, but lets not knock down peoples faith.

If that's the case at the very least I'm glad that theres not been another tsunami warning / another one on the way there...enough is enough. I really am hoping for this to come to a close quickly for you guys so people can start to rebuild and not have this kind of stress and tragedy and fear

Well let me bring some logic in this thread.

If God exists, this wouldn't be happening.

And to be fair, if what is happening is "the will of God"...

Then of what use is praying?

You god is sick.

read book of revelations, last chapter of the bible, which is likely what is happening now.

God Is Love.

& yes there is wrath & consequence for sin.

those born to eternal life have something to look forward to.

Pray.

it will get far worse before it gets better (HEAVEN)

that's my belief.

I'm sorry. I don't have a lot of information about Ichinoseki, outside of the fact that the coastal areas were hit quite hard. I know that they have no power in most of the area.

google has set up an extremely useful site here:
www.google.com...

there are links on there to google's people finder, as well as the disaster message boards for all of the national cellphone providers. input the cellphone number and you will be taken to a message left by that person. remember that you should be inputting the number without the international calling codes. I suggest using that first.

I'm not on here all that much, but if you're in a pinch and need something translated, send me a U2U - I'll get an email with that and get back to you s soon as I can.

I further this motion and question if there is a god (and that is a HUGE if in my book) do you think he honesly gives a # about who lives, who dies? saints, sinners...whatever....does it LOOK like he cares?

my answer would be a big fat NO. But I don't believe in God...it's not logical without any cold hard solid physical proof to belive in a higher power lording over us sorry to offend if i have

Why does it bother you? Maybe He wants you to hear. I'm saying this lovingly, not sarcastically.
