Kind of similar to Swordfish.

Hello people.

You might remember a movie that came out in 2000 called Swordfish starring Halle Berry, John Travolta, Hugh Jackman and Don Cheadle.

I saw the movie in October 2001, nearly a month after 9/11. I was stunned to hear Travolta's character, at the end, say to Jackman's character that he ( Travolta ) was working to make the biggest terrorist act on American soil in order to allow secret services to have quasi unlimited funds and the liberty to attack any country without having anyone saying a word.
We all know what happened since then. But there were also other movies having a similar twist in their stories, I remember one involving high-ranking military with the NASA, all before 2001. So aside from the 9:11 symbolism references that has been found in movies prior to 9/11, there were also movies which clearly stated the fact in plain words.

Now. Yesterday, I was watching the French version of the movie Hot Tub Time Machine which came out last year... The French version is called Le spa à remonter dans le temps. It stars John Cusack, Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke.

When the four guys realize they have went back in time, and they discuss the implications of their actions, John Cusack says, relating to the Butterfly Effect; ( Please, realize I saw it in French, and will be translating a translation. If someone knows the reply and could correct it, it would be cool. But even tho it is translated again, you will get the message loud and clear... ) "...the smallest variation will have repercussions on all of the Earth, like the wings of a butterfly will make Tokyo explode and tsunamis appear about everywhere..."

Could this have been an advent of what was to happen? Like we saw in 2001, but instead in 2011?

Have you seen other movies containing such a comment? Movies from last year? Or visual references to 11/03/11?

Prior to Cusack's statement, they were all talking about what was happening to them and they were saying something like we had been swallowed by a black hole...

And before anyone points it, in 2001, the terrorists plots were made by secret services. Now its accidental time travel...

In anyway, it was a weird feeling to hear this less than 24 hours after Japan's big quake and tsunami... Also it is not as factual as Swordfish in terms of "what we're gonna do!/is gonna happen!", but still, the Tokyo exploding and tsunamis reference in the same sentence is a strange coincidence.

And I know, it's like the reference to the Vancouver Olympic games in the movie 2012. No real value, but look, John Cusak stars in both movies...
