This post will be pretty straight forward, just getting tired of reading all the fear mongering.

The moon will be 356758 kilometres away from the earth on the 19th this month, it is true that it will be closer to earth than it has for 20 years.

But just last month, the 19th of February, the moon was 358255 kilometres away from earth.

That's just 1497 kilometres difference!

Now the fear mongers will say that's a HUGE!!1!! distance but please, just step back and think for a moment.

Oh and for those that think this approaching 'supermoon' has something to do with the recent Japanese earthquake/tsunami, the moon is currently 395908 kilometres away, that's further away than the 19th of February and thousands of other dates over the years.

All the above information can be found here:

Full Worm Moon – March As the temperature begins to warm and the ground begins to thaw, earthworm casts appear, heralding the return of the robins. The more northern tribes knew this Moon as the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signaled the end of winter; or the Full Crust Moon, because the snow cover becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. The Full Sap Moon, marking the time of tapping maple trees, is another variation. To the settlers, it was also known as the Lenten Moon, and was considered to be the last full Moon of winter.

march 19 ! nothing to be alarm everything just fine

If I recall during supermoon of 1992, there were EQK's in Egypt, California and I think Nicaragua

Ummm a simple google search turns up this....

"We experienced extreme weather conditions under the last Super Moons in 1955, 1974, 1992 and 2005. Hurricane Katrina is one example which happened in 2005 under a Super Moon’s influence. January 10, 2005 gave us the 9.0 magnitude earthquake in Indonesia, also under a Super Moon."

www.psychiccosmos.com...

that is just one of the....countless web sites with the same information. i haven't even said anything about/or wondered about this coming 'supermoon' and the possibility of Earth disasters because of, however anyone can llook it up like i just did and see that there have in fact been many large scale disasters happening on Earth during these 'supermoon' periods.

(ps goodle before you thread!

That site looks very dubious, to say the least, just by looking at its name. When I clicked on it, it won't load either, which makes me more suspicious.

To the OP, people are just people, they are desperate for something big to happen so they can say to themselves/other people "I knew about the moon causing earthquakes weeks before you"

The OP comes from TPTB propaganda agency and is trying to prevent us from seeing what is happening in front of of eyes. THE MOON JUST CAUSED AN EARTHQUAKE, LOOK IN TO IT.

The moon was around 400000 kilometres away during Katrina.

That is very close to it's average apogee (furthest distance from the earth).

No he isn't. Chad is one of the few people on this site that actually provides logical and rational reasoning within his threads.

Thanks for info Chad!

Not overly concerned about the " Crow moon " but will definitely be looking and getting some snapshots for myself,
I would post pictures but i bought a samsung galaxy i phone and it wont accept the USB connection on my (old) computer,
But saying that, it bucketed down hail stones yesterday and that coupled with all the other activities going on with the dead animals around the world its best to keep a heads up attitude, Have been back in training and shed a few stone "just in case", Apolz Chad if off topic

The biggest quake that year was a 7.5 mag in Indonesia in December. There was nothing else above 6.7 mag.

All in all, a rather uneventful year. It therefore seems that any increase in earthquake activity is purely coincidental.

Yes, but we also experienced extreme weather conditions in 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 ....... and so on

I'm saying it wasn't a big earthquake. In fact, it was only mag 5.8.

Thousands of people die in hundreds of earthquakes every year, regardless of how close the Moon is to the Earth.
