WOW!

Amazing what we can achieve nowadays, this is phenomenal and looks incredible.

Combine this guy with IBM's Watson brain and cleverbots wittiness and you have a companion that would we amusing as hell.

Can't wait to see what the future has in store.

Any thoughts?

Better than Data from Star Trek?! Lol. Not even close! But still cool nonetheless.

Uh-oh...

Just making my way through GetSmart's fascinating thread

The Clone Conspiracy - Royal And Presidential Clones

and this level of complex android entity disclosure was predicted back then.

Very worrying, knowing that anything in the public realm is light years behind technologies known to TPTB.

I recommend strongly that everyone go through the clone conspiracy thread...AND START ACTING OR START PRAYING.

Ummm....my mind is going down a dark, dark road of imagination......

But, the real danger might be when they all start to form their own union??

They should have made it a good looking "female" robot. That surely would have garnered alot more attention.

"female"?

The Japanese have one of those too, already.

Trust me....I mentioned it earlier, above.....my mind has gone to a dark, dark place.....(and, there is a profession older than dirt, if you catch my drift.....).

We have long way to go before artificial intelligence. These are robots imitating it, not capable of it yet. Still one to get something from the fridge would be nice.

animatronics.. nothing more.

No where near an android, and well.. rip the skin off and you're left with servos and levers.

Jaba the hut was no different.

I wish people would stop assuming animatronics are the equivalent of androids...

puppets, just with a different sock..

I think it would be smarter if they made artificial prostitutes. Less disease and they would be cheaper.

But if you were to buy one as a partner, where the hell could you hide it when people came over?

Also, the wife wouldn't be impressed.

A damn good looking sock with very life like features.

I get your point though, but I believe androids are not as far away as most people think. We are supposed to have computers equivalent of a human brain by 2020. That's when things will get real interesting.

Transformers might be a documentary of the future.

Given the current state of the art, I can just as easily believe this is a real android or a person pretending to be an android. Within 10 years, we might actually have androids among us passing for humans.

That was really creepy..... yet the thought of robot prostitutes is enticing.

I don't think we are going to have androids walking among us very soon, passing as humans. Not that one couldn't be made that could pass for human, but I'd imagine with how expensive they would be, their roles would be very limited (as in, not roaming around the streets trying to trick humans)

Amazing. It already has more acting skills than Matt Damon. I will be sure to purchase a few for driving in the HOV lane.

LMAO!!! I love the thought of the future with projects like these happening, but i also have to say this thread has made me realise we are all geeks, how much excitement can the thought of robot prostitution cause... sad

Does that thing remind anybody else of Robert Downey Jr.? That's all I could think while watching the video.
