Your "linking" is pretty tenuous. So any company that has ever had NASA as a client is now controlled by NASA? I bet you're linked to NASA if you use that kind definition. You'll note that I never said that NASA had nothing to do with Elenin, I said that they didn't have much to say about Elenin and surely weren't running a "PR campaign." Big difference there. But the fact remains the comet was discovered by a private individual, using a privately-maintained telescope, and its discovery was reported by the International Astronomical Union, all non-NASA entities. Of course if you stretch enough, you can "link" anything in the astronomical world to NASA. That doesn't mean they had anything to do with the discovery of this object.

As for my sources, the original Astronomical Telegram announcing Elenin's discovery said:

Leonid Elenin (Lyubertsy, Russia) reports his discovery of a comet on four 240-s unfiltered CCD exposures taken remotely with a 0.45-m f/2.8 astrograph at the ISON-NM observatory near Mayhill, NM, USA, on Dec. 10.435 UT

All you've proven is that NASA is interested in astronomy. That's not news. What does that have to do with anything? Can you show that any of the data concerning Elenin is wrong? If not, what's your point?

Welcome Mr Elenin. A few questions I would like to ask. Approximately, how big is the comet and what makes you think it will not effect earth or any other object, in our Solar system? Thanks in advance..

Can you show that any of the data concerning NASA being behind the whole 'Elenin' story is wrong? If not, what's your point in trying to pretend every single connection between the two is coincidental?

I proved that NASA is the backing to every web site you have brought forward, which means in 'easier terms' all the data you've mentioned comes from NASA itself. Therefor, all you have proven by posting data from these NASA sponsored/supported/owned websites is that I am right in saying NASA is the one behind the entire story.

Anyone that can't possibly think NASA, as website that is interested in astronomy, and that just happens to own all the sources for Comet Elenin data, fabricated the story given all the sources I stated, must be pretty delusional, esp given the fact NASA photo shops the pictures it releases to the public, blacks out images in space from being seen by the general public, and shuts down archive data as of the last 4 days for 'web maintenance',

Noooo, not at all, that would be a conspiracy!

PS, Show me one, just one piece of data on comet Elen that CANNOT be sourced back to NASA. That means the website cannot be owned by a company NASA owns or sponsors or funs, and nor can it be partnered, a client of, or use NASA owned technology.

I really don't wånt to pester him any further, as he stated he is proud of his finding, hate to make it something he regerts. but if you have facebook you can join his group, and ask yourself.

someone on his group said that the comet is 4KM, he did not confirm or refute that.

Hmm interesting there is 1, and only 1 'possible' match to the name Leonid Elenin on facebook(the other is like 15y/o) and they just created thir account on Feb 15. It's not the same person as in the picture with the little smidge of info on Leonid Elenin here: iasc.hsutx.edu...

As I said, you've just "linked" NASA to the entire astronomical world. It is you who needs to show that somehow NASA was involved in and controlled the discovery of the comet. I think most people will understand that just because the private company that provides the telescope hosting for the telescope that discovered Elenin has also, at some time in the past, hosted a telescope used by NASA doesn't mean that NASA somehow controls the company or the data coming from the hosted telescope.

I agree Phage..that hurt my head trying to figure it out. I think some of us need a time out. Look...its coming soon enough and everyone can say "I told you so" soon enough.

There is a lot more objects in space than just this one .

Keep in mind

2003 QQ47 is almost a mile wide . 2003 QQ47 was ranked one on the Torino scale. Not anymore . Its suppose to fly past the earth . And it would be sometime in march of 2014

The third biggest known asteroid in the solar system known is 2001 KX76

with a diameter of more than 1000 km.

Its half the size of Pluto.

Planet x is not a Asteroid
2012 still has not been figured out .

Large dooms day Asteroids have not hit our planet in known historic times . There is no historic record of a mile wide event . Unless you figure out the last time a Major Impact took place .
