Aid to Libya

So, now Obama is sending an additional 15 million dollars in humanitarian aid to Libya, bringing the total U.S. contributions to 25 million dollars.

I'm happy that the Libyans are getting help from the U.S., but I think that with the current economical state of the U.S., we could be using that money to help the U.S.

Once again I ask why the U.S. has to insist on being the "world police"?

Since the U.S. is so far in debt, it really just means the U.S. is giving Libya money the U.S. is borrowing (probabaly from China). We do not need to get further in debt. 25 million dollars may be a tiny amount compared to the overall debt of the U.S. but it is a lot of money to the average American.

They continue to spend like this because we continue to foot the bill. The US government is akin to your teenager using an emergency credit card to buy clothes at Saks and maxes it out.

In this case as a parent would you pay the bill in full and then give it back to your teenager with an even higher credit limit? Because that's exactly what the American people continue to do. We complain, we moan, but we continue to foot the bill -- and watch as they pass to raise their own credit limit!

Seriously, it's not the politicians. We're the stupid ones.

Can we STOP giving money away we don't have!!!

I am so sick of the US giving out money to all these other countries when their own people could really use it first.

So where is this money coming from

Why are people angry at 15 million in humanitarian aid and not the billions given to terrorist states by the U.S?

Cool avatar. I'll never look at an AR bolt the same way ever again.

Obama is is in full grandstand mode and will be until the election. There are plenty of ways we can assist without sending cash that is more likely to wind up in the wrong hands anyway. Our nation is in debt!! I don't think this administration gets it.

Let the private aid orgs. send the cash not the taxpayers.

We complain about the billions as well, but this particular thread is concerning Libyan aid. If we were to list everything the American people continue to be angry about funding it would most certainly derail the thread!
