More people are on their way home from work and driving during this time... Hard to see flying objects at your desk at work

Those are some pretty cool pics! Where would you estimate it landed? I live in Warrenville, I am semi acquainted with the Oswego area so if you are up for a field trip let me know.

This is my best estimate

I think i have an idea as to what the object was maybe it was one of the experiments from X-37 Space planes Experiment bay and they were testing new technology.

The jets were part of a military test acting as enemy forces trying to intercept the X37-B's Experimental Payload(missile, vehicle, etc). Can anyone Expound on what i'm getting at? THX

The only way to upload pics thru the iPhone is via apps not websites... I can't upload the pic until I get to a computer... If somebody wants to provide me an email, I'll email the pics and they can upload/post them for me?

great job on catching whatever this was on film. I have seen a few strange things only to wish I was quick enough to catch them. This is the kind of stuff that we are all about. And your presentation and not jumping to conclusions is greatly appreciated. Did you hear any loud noises like this thing landed? I am reminded by the situation that happened in Colorado on the Snake River where the guy on the houseboat saw an object land right in front of him and he said it made a loud "thud" noise. I am sure the thread on that is around somewhere. Again, great job on being prepared. You must have been a good boyscout.

I like seeing local phenomenon on global websites. I live a couple of counties north of this incident and I am always looking up at night. I have a good South/East view with trees blocking most North and West. RARELY do I see stuff I cannot identify.

Good catch, OP!

Lol no thud, I don't think it landed I think it pulled up, I just put a pic on my best guess of where it would have landed if it did in fact land or crash?

And no, I was not a boyscout, just trained myself to take pics of funny interesting things fast!

Can I bug you for the source of the information about the particular experiment/payload and the reason it might be related to this event? Thanks.

Cuhail I haven't see you in awhile I missed you, lol and you probably don't recall me on here.

From what was described in the opening post it not only sounds like but looks like a classic saucer tactic

I experienced a very similar scenario at least a year ago, here in NC. My girlfriend and I were riding in my car around 8:30 pm, it was dark but we were in a well lit part of Greensboro. Coming to a stoplight, we saw a large flaming object falling from the sky about (from my estimate) 2 miles away. It was very large and bright. I assumed it was a meteor, but then I noticed a helicopter following it. I started to drive in the direction of it, but once it got beyond a treeline and I lost sight I didn't feel like "wasting" anymore gas to go chasing UFOs. For almost 3 months afterward I asked many friends if they'd seen it and posted on local web-bulletins, but no-one had. No news coverage, no online references or pics anywhere... I know i wasn't just "seeing things" because my girlfriend saw it too.

This is what ATS is all about and why I love coming to this site! Cool event to witness and its nice to have a picture to back it up. Without more visual evidence to look at i dont know what to think, definitely weird. I give you much credit OP for actually snapping a photo & sharing this with us all here. Much respect

If this was a meteor or astroid or satellite, it would have hit the ground? If it hit the ground, somebody would have said something and it would have been in the paper or posted on google? I've been searching non stop and cannot find anything! So if it's not being talked about either it never hit the ground or somebody is interested in keeping it quite?

Just a thought...

That's an extremely impressive photograph. I think you may want to post that on an astronomy forum too, as there are probably going to be quite a few people who'd like to see that.

Very nice photo indeed.

Gosh you must've been quick to catch that on a phone. How did you get it out and set up the camera so quick? I saw something burn right across the sky this evening and it only took about 2 seconds. There's no way I could have gotten my phone out of my pocket in time. As it was I had to leap forward to catch it disappearing behind a tree on the other side of the road.
