Far North Pole shaken by moderate quake

Of course the magnetosphere is eroding in strength, this is part of the process called magnetic reversal. It's part of the cycles of the Earth we live on. When the magnetic reversal has passed once again the field will be there to protect us. Not before massive amounts of radiation bombards the planet though.

now that is a scary thought would you be able to tell me when the magnetic pole does this reversal do you know how long we will not have one?. is that what happens is it a long or slow process?. this is the same as a pole shift?. soryy if i am wrong

There isn't really any signifigance to the location of the Earthquake as was stated before. They can happen anywhere on the Earth. As for the Earthquake itself yes it could be related to the shifting of the magnetic poles, but it can also be related to the current position of the Earth in its rotation. It can also be equated to the position of the Moon vs the Earth and also the fact that the wobble stopped years ago. I still believe and haven't changed my belief that the Earth is going through a major Geological change. I am still waiting for Continents to start breaking apart. Always did wonder what it would be like to live in a Archipelago

Ok, let me first clarify a few things, Magnetic reversal is completely separate from this theory called crustal displacement, aka pole shift. They are two entirely separate notions, (physical poles vs magnetic poles) one of which is speculative, and the other(magnetic reversal) being a known phenomenon.

Magnetic reversal is actually a pretty simple idea, so the easy way to picture it is holding a magnet in either hand, when you begin to feel them drawing to each other, that's full strength. As they draw closer and closer, think of them as getting weaker, until suddenly the snap together. This is the reversal.

As the magnetosphere weakens over time you'll continue to see an increase in volcanic and tectonic activity. The main function of the magnetosphere is to protect us from the suns viscous power. When the magnetosphere's protective barrier collapses during the reversal we will be left to bathe in the sun's might. So we can expect solar radiation bombardment(this is the largest threat), a large increase in volcanic eruptions, major earthquakes, natural nuclear explosions, oil rain, and many more phenomenon.

It's not the end of the world, but it is part of the Earth's cycle. It's also important to note that magnetic reversal is also highly linked to the onset of ice ages.
