william cooper made a parallel betwen Jesus that called himself "the light", LUCIFER witch was the angel of light , and the ANTICHRIST...
His opinion is that WE ARE THE ANTICHRIST and that Jesus and Lucifer are the same thing...
preety disturbing thing come to think of it...

Only GOD knows what's what ...
I don't believe Cooper is nowhere near!

Neither...Satan doesn't and never did exist as a sentient entity.

It's the yin/yang principle, an anthropomorphic manifestation of our own tumultuous and violent natures and a method used to recognise that side of ourselves as being undesirable.

Think about it rationally for a moment.

I realise hardcore, militant religious types are beyond reasoning with, but most religious people are moderate, tempered and intelligent people, able to both consider and question their own position, so this is really for you..

Ask yourself a question, while bearing this in mind;

God loves all of us, and wishes for us to lead a good hearted and loving existence...right?

God created everything in existence, and has cause everything to occur that ever will occur, being omnipotent this is all part of a grand master plan for humanity (or words to that effect)...right?

God wishes to protect and shield humanity from evil and corruption, manifest in the entity the bible calls Satan, whom God has cast down into the fiery depths of the bowels of the Earth, to spend eternity paying for his rebellion...right?

OK..here's the point, If God created humanity and everything else, and wanted humanity to grow and prosper without the negative influences of evil incarnate and the corruption that would ensue...

*Why* would this Satan entity be based...on Earth..right where the only humans in the Universe reside? In fact, why would God place Satan *anywhere* in the Universe where even microbes survive, let alone God's children.

It doesn't make logical sense.

If i don't want my children to cut themselves on a carelessly broken glass bottle, i remove the glass bottle, and the danger completely away from their path and vicinity...I certainly wouldn't think it was a good idea to leave the broken glass in the area and encourage my children play and develop amongst it all, which is effectively what God is supposed to have done leaving Satan in our vicinity.

It doesn't make sense, so my answer to your question would be neither.

Satan or Lucifer was kicked out of heaven because he grew an ego, he wanted to be God and God was angry and said you cannot become me you have to worship me. Lucifer then got kicked out of heaven because of it and his followers went down with him, thus he became Satan. Satan is the Prince and Power of the Air, he is the Morning Star, he is free to roam the Earth or the Air, until Judgement Day. Then he will be bound down in hell only to be released again, after the reign of the next prophet.

You..can hear how this sounds i suppose?

Since you seem to know all about this Satan character, perhaps you could supply an answer to my question a couple of posts up? I'd be interested in hearing your take on it.

Actually it does make sense if you look at it in a different perspective. Let's take it on a Gnostic Level shall we..let's look at this way, Satan is us, we are the Devil, why are we the Devil, because of our Egos. If you look at what the Devil represents it is all of us. He is Vanity, jealousy, anger, sloth, arrogance, a liar, a cheater, and so on, he is the seven deadly sins. Now look at humans what are we, emotional beings who cannot control our emotions or the devil side of ourselves. What was Jesus? He is perfection, and enlightened, he has control over his emotions. Right, there is ying and yang. Satan is the Shadow side of us, and of Jesus. Jesus is what we are striving to become, so how do we get rid of Satan or our shadow self, first we must recognize it then kill it. Once we kill the ego part of us we can become enlightened. I working on killing my ego, it isn't easy. How do we kill our ego, meditation or initiation, or both.

Without Satan, the concept of God would be meaningless.

No i don't know everything about Satan but I have theories, if you want to get more in depth about the devil personage I suggest reading Jung and the Tarot, or any book by Jung, The Chicken Qaballah, The Mystical Qaballah, any Alice Bailey books, or Anna Kingsford books. Or you could read the bible, just remember not to take the bible to heart, as it's all symbolism. It's basically an instruction manual on how to get back to God in symbolism.

its all bs

if satan was sent to hell there would haveto have been a hell in the first place to send him there
and if there was why did god create hell if hes the ruler of everything?
so he creates hell so humans have free will
but in essence hes creating a false idol
the list goes on and on contradiction after contradiction
theres no right nor wrong

seems a bit stupid to create an opposition if u already have a monopoly on everything

Satan serves God's purpose for now, which is why God is allowing him to influence human behavior. God wants us to be able to choose between good and evil. Obviously our Heavenly Father wants us to CHOOSE to do good; but in order for there to be a choice, evil must exist.

God's plan for us does have an end game though, and when Satan has served his purpose he will be cast into the Lake of Fire to be tortured for all eternity.

REVELATION 20:10 - And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

And that is the definitive answer from a Bibical perspective.

~ Thoughts and explanations are welcomed. I am not an expert by any means when it comes to religion, I simply wish to make an attempt to understand. As you will probably tell from this post, this subject really really confuses me. ~

It is my understanding that Satan's ultimate goal is to lead people away from God and to lead them to fallacies which God opposes. This is because God kicked him out because he would not bow to God as all other angels did, and fought to rule heaven himself.

So Satan goes to hell, is this to rule or be punished?

Hell is supposed to be the place that Satan temps people to do bad things and takes their souls, right? So why would God kick Satan out of heaven because he will not bow down to God only to give Satan a place to rule?

Was Satan sent to hell to burn as all other sinners. If so, then why is Satan referred to be the ruler of hell? How can you rule a place your sent to be punished at? Also, why would Satan punish those who turn away from God as he did? You would think that he would award those who turn away from God not punish.

What the situation sounds like to me is that God gave Satan a place to rule for compromise. Maybe the war between the 2 was not going aswell as God planned or whatever. I say this because I think if the ALMIGHTY GOD wanted something gone he would simply un-create it (for lack of a better words)

Iam sorry but your assumption of the events are wrong, and this is where a lot of bad press comes from. You state "kicked him out because he would not bow to God as all other" You are wrong Satan/Lucef/et al loved God,, always did, always will,, it was because they would not bow down too a piece of God's work called MAN.

See the difference.

So you can see where the confusion begin's. Of course looking at the shape of the world today with nobody but MAN and WOMAN too blame,, well maybe they had a point.
Me.
