You should be careful throwing that word around - treason. According to the Constitution, it has to:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.

In short, you have to have two people who can state that they witnessed Pvt. Manning transmit the documentation.

revealing classified material is not treason - it is a breach of national security, but no matter how you spin it, it was not a direct act of aggression against his country or an attempt to overthrow it. And you don't have two people to declare witness against him.

Therefore, you can have whatever you want in your book. But, regardless of whatever is in your book, Pvt. Manning did not commit treason as defined in the US Constitution.
