When immigrants seek to become U.S. citizens, they have to pass several tests. One of them focuses on civics, U.S. history and other facts about the nation. Usually the test is given orally, and 10 questions are asked. The questions are pulled from a large pool. This quiz has 50 of the actual questions that may be asked during the citizenship test.

www.wgal.com...

You'll have to click on the link and it goes from there. Honestly.... I missed FOUR!!!!

I remember my mother studying all the time and quizing us kids back in the day. I don't even remember what she was asking but she sure made it fun to us kids.

I will never forget that day I watched her take the Oath and being Sworn in. One of the happiest days of her life.

See, I have no problem with people doing it the right way... legally.

Or with people who join the military combat units and then apply for citizenship. There are ways to prove yourself worthy-as it were. Legally.

I would love to see a whole Divisional Army made up of Mexican/South American folks. Put them on the borders and in the Drug war. Tell them if they stop the drugs and related problems, their in. See what happens.

Mods: I put this thread here do to the current and on-going issues related to illegal immigation etc.

I missed 4 as well... all mundane history related questions that I would have known in high school but are irrelevant now. *shrug*

Took me a while but after the 42nd question I realized I'd never wanna be a citizen. The system it represents is failing rapidly. Took them 400 years to rob it blind but it's about to collapse. Too bad they're gonna take the rest of us with them.

Love to the people though, still not too late to step up and demand some of the BS going on to stop

Yup. and you can always do George Carlins way too....if they want to be citizens, give them mexicans a gun a magazine of ammo, if they dont want to become citizens, send them to the war zone anyways, without a weapon and mag!

Sorry, the correct answer was the Speaker of the House.

Thanks for taking the U.S. Citizenship quiz. We hope you enjoyed it.

Your final score is 33 out of 50 questions.

Not bad for an Aussie who has not studied American History.

woohoo!! I got them all right.

I agree with the OP, there is a right way to earn your citizenship here and sneaking across the border shouldn't be one of them. I wish there was an easy answer to the problem of illegal immigration and unfortunately I don't have all the answers.

I think the biggest problem is that the Federal Government is unwilling to enforce the laws already on the books in regards to illegal immigration.

I'm not an American and have never lived in the USA, by the way. I think anyone is reasonably well-read and has decent logic skills should be able to do well on this exam.

I'm kinda surprised I did as well as I did.
I haven't thought about some of that stuff in quite a while.

Just to prove that our education system is also failing,
I would like to see this test given to high school kids, heck, the teachers too.

The last thing they want us armed with is real knowledge, but indoctrinating, is oh so much better for them.

I got a 49 out of 50 solely because one of the questions I found hilariously opinion based.

Who is the father of the united states? George Washington my ass, Jefferson was the right answer.

Oh and the question about 9/11 and Terrorists was also pretty strange to see.

I got 47 out of 50, and I missed one mundane history question: The Federalist Papers one. I guessed Jefferson, and it was Madison. The other two I think had to do with numbers of congressmen and the term length of one of the branches. I don't remember now though.

Peace be with you.

Yep, that's the question I missed, too.
I dunno, whenever I see "Madison" the only one I can think of is Dolly...
