Kerry Wins & I'm Driving With Ted Kennedy

So I had a big dream last night that Kerry won, and there were all these parades & parties celebrating it. Democrats everywhere were dancing the Batusi and tossing confetti. This is one of many Kerry wins, Bush loses dreams I have had.

The scary part had to do with Ted Kennedy. I specifically remember that he was very very happy, and was driving off to celebrate. Scary thing being: I was in the car with him. I hope we weren't going to drive over any bridges. And then he parks his car in front of this building that is both a political party office & a mafioso hangout. And all these seedy politicans/mob types come out of the building to enter the car.

So while the initial vibe of the dream was happy (I'm not a big Bush fan), this weird thing with Kennedy & the mob really tainted it. Is this supposed to be a comment on some aspect of the democratic party? I know that the mob did their share to get JFK elected...would something similar be going on with this JFK (John F Kerry)? I'm still voting Kerry no matter what, but I'm just curious...

Does the mob have a political party preference?

Cassie, I think it's a very bad omen. It may also indicate that deep down you have very grave concerns over a Kerry presidency. Wiith regard to a democrat tie to the mob, I believe that something does exist. Much of this belief stems from the apparent and perceived proclivity for democratic politicians to become involved in graft and corruption scandals. This is particularly true in construction projects where the mob has a long history. Additionally, as you pointed out, the mob/Kennedy connection stole the Nixon Kennedy election. Much of that I believe was attributable to the family's mob connections from the days of prohibition when Joe Kennedy was running illegal booze. Too bad the democrats didn't wake up with a Gephardt/Edwards ticket. It would be much stronger than Kerry/Edwards. Personally, I think Bush will win.

Good point, CommonSense. I'm still a Kerry supporter, but I think there is going to be corruption no matter who wins; it's only a matter of where it's going to come from. But this dream does let me down somewhat.

I also think the JFK/JFK connection is an omen in itself.

I hope you are not in an Olsmobile, and driving around any water. I'm not a big Bush supporter, but Scarry Kerry doesn't do alot for me either. Ralph Nader is still driving his Corvair and dreaming. Ross Perot is not even heard from anymore. If Scarry Kerry is elected President, does this mean that he'll go in front of congress and tell all his dirty deeds, will he return his National Defense Ribbon, oops, I'm sorry, he already did this.

I will tell you something, ask yourself this question what is worst, the mob or the big money making corporations.

They both as corrupt as any person that goes into power, is always a power behind the president not matter if he is democrat or republican, is always money involve lots of money.

Perhaps your dream is about an attemp on somebody's life. The kennedy's has always been link to bad luck and omens.

HA! I went to Martha's Vineyard on my honeymoon... in 1976! I told my new hubby (at the time) that I just *had* to go to Chappaquiddick to get a gander at the bridge... the scene of the crime. Heck, it was a really low bridge and I was frankly surprised at how the whole thing seemed so small in comparision to the *big story* it became.

So weird that JFK Jr. went down off Martha's Vineyard, too, come to think of it.. that must've really freaked old Teddy out!

BTW, Nerdling... I LOVE your Avatar!

Cassie, he didn't ask you to be his babysitter did he

Eh, I think the Mob infuence died in the 70s, remember a lot of the big dons got pegged in the 80s and 90s and are sitting in concrete cells upstate now.

I really think ye olde Italian-American Mafia lost a lot of its power. Even here in Chicago the Yakuza and Russians run things now, and the Russian Mafia already owns a country so they're pretty happy to just make money here.

Out of all the unsavory "special interests" that a canidate could have, I'd say the mafia is probably one of the better ones. They're for immigrants rights, for regulation of big business and in a pinch you can count on them to really help out America (look at what the New York Mafia did durring WWII for FDR.) If someone has to have the president's ear I'd rather it be Gotti or Balistrari than Haliburton. Granted that Gotti's at Riker's and Balistrari is locked up in Wisconsin, so I doubt they'd have much to say these days.

May Peace Travel With You
