yup, couldn't agree more.
i'll never forget after 9/11 in my small western, u.s. town.
there was a family of muslims who had rocks thrown threw their windows, were harassed on the streets,
basically their lives became miserable overnight.
i had a store at the time and was friends with the father and knew the entire family.
very peaceful family who deserved none of it.
i told them all that if anything happened to just go to my store as a safehaven. even gave them a key.
i lived in the back and was armed to the teeth.
everyone in town knew this and i even received a few threatening letters.
it got so bad that a few of us would escort the parents to work and the kids to school.
nothing really became of it, it was basically the whites just spewing hatred.
btw, i am a white guy.

.........I agree that this is their cultures version of our "Cowboys and Indians' I however disagree that this act is brainwashing. They do convey that suicide bombing or being a martyr is to be respected BUT "Cowboys & Indians" is EXACTLY the SAME THING. One group of people attacking an innocent unarmed group of people for your own gain. Considering what we did to the Indians it is just as bad. So call it what it is......CULTURAL DIFFERENCES.

Your game of cowboys and indians must have been different than what my friends and I played. The indians were well armed and sneaky. I know, I often played an indian. It was more fun than playing a cowboy.

I'm not going to give you a link to anything. Why should I?! You are going to believe what you believe because you have it in your heart to do so. Until you lift that hate, nothing I show you will reach your mind without being tainted by your bitterness.

You look it up. I already know. I reccomend you try to educate yourself on the difference between Sunni and Shiite, as well.

Your version of "Cowboys and Indians" is fairy tale. Why don't you check out what REALLY happened to them and then compare. You shouldn't let your kids play games pertaining to there history unless you are going to be accurate about it, seeing how you are an expert on the subject!(kinda like me That is How we get so confused about what we really are all about.

I hate to get into heated discussions until I know what they're about. There are many posters opposed to the position of the OP. Is their idea that Muslims are no more violent than Christians, Muslim nations are no more violent than America, and that Muslims are quick to officially denounce other Muslims for misinterpreting their scriptures?

These are the small minority, of course, and to cite these as examples of how an entire country/region/race/religion acts is a bit hasty, to say the least.

My biggest problem is with Muslim extremists. I would say any kind of extremist, however it seems to me like the prevalence of extremism in Islam is greater than in other religions. There are monsters like Timothy McVeigh, but they seem like a rarity compared to the organized efforts of al queda, etc.

And I also have a complaint about the so-called "peaceful" mainstream Muslims, and that is their tacit tolerance of the extremist Muslims. Ask them what they think about what the terrorists are doing and some say they aren't violent and wouldn't do it themselves, but maybe the people they are attacking have it coming or something like that. The only way you will convince me that mainstream Muslims are truly peaceful is if they completely disavow the actions of the extremists, and while this happens on occasion, it's rare. Too rare.

maybe you watch to much cnn, bbc etc. just because it is not shown by the media where as the ones you listed are does not mean they are not real or it does not happen.

And this is worse than "cops and robbers" or "cowboys and indians" how, exactly?

You see, like I said, you are being trained that all Muslims are either brutal sadistic subhuman monsters, or that they all SUPPORT these brutal sadistic subhuman monsters.

No one expects Arbitrageur to get up in front of a camera, and express his concern and denouncement of every wrong committed by a Christian, or an American, or a white person, or a man, or a Diner's Club member, or whatever other categories you fall under. That's not your responsibility.

Nor is it Faisal Nusrellah of Tyre, Lebanon's responsibility to do the same when Akbar Khan Mohammed of Lahore, Pakistan tosses a grenade into a coffeehouse.

Excuse me, Sir, but if you don't see the correlation between US forces doing nasty (and sometimes necessary) things in Afghanistan and Al Qaeda being largely disabled, you are either a hypocrite or having a cognitive dissonance.

Well their rise to power is certainly credited to us so I'd hope some of the torture victims and limbless children had something to do with their demise. But I doubt it.
