No - - I have one major focus. I support Equal Rights. That applies to both Gay rights - - and Right of Choice.

1. I worked at a company where I was the minority being a straight female. I learned a lot about gays. Mostly - - they are just people like everyone else.

2. My first pregnancy ended in a 4 month spontaneous abortion. I had 2 normal healthy pregnancies after that. My fourth pregnancy I chose to abort.

FACT -- as someone keeps mentioning FACT on this thread. My experiences are my reality in the focus of opinion on this thread and the Right of Choice (abortion) thread.

Any questions?

now I see .....
fair enough.......

I'm not sure what you see.

By choice I am no longer Christian or anything for that matter.

However - having been raised in a religion - - I do have the right to have an opinion about it.

If you have your right to an a opinion, then wouldn't people who don't like Gay people have that right also, without being harrassed?

NO. It is not about opinion or belief - - - it is about Equal Rights.

Your belief is irrelevant to - - - the Equal Rights of every human

It really irritates me to see this thread continue. There are more important things going on in this world. So what if you agree or disagree with Homosexuality. Deal with your own personal #. Both sides are very ignorant....but who cares. I do not call myself having hetero phobia so I will not put homophobia as a label also.. One more thing...I also do not need someone that never walked in my shoes or lifestyle to defend me. It is getting annoying. This will be the last time looking at this thread. So, no need to reply if you feel you must I will not know.

"NO. It is not about opinion or belief - - - it is about Equal Rights.

you make no sense and you double talk, What is equality, if not a belief?
you don't belive trully in equal rights, becasue you would take away people's right, to choose their own destiny
you want a world of liberal zombies, who think the same way you do... there is no such thing as equal rights...
we are not equal, no matter how much you push the idea down people's throat... are you equal to a child rappist?

I realize you are homosexual/lesbian - - - and I am not.

However - - - awareness for Equality is crucial. If you can turn one person to acceptance - - they can turn someone else.

You need to be realistic in the necessity of awareness of what affects laws and equality.

That is what you don't seem to get. You can not make people believe anything. They have to come to the realization themselves. Calling people names, and yelling at them about how wrong their belief is, will never change anything. You are essentially wasting your breath. It is the same as athiests trying to show religious people how dumb they think their beliefs are. Or christians trying to convince satanists that they are worshipping the devil, even though they don't even believe in the devil....

Miss Annee...please come out of the closet already.
I am being serious. Live in my shoes and see what a waste of time it would be to try and convince people to accept my lifestyle. Why would I want to. I know I said I would not visit this thread but jeeez lady enough already. Please I am actually begging you. Find something else to be passionate about...you might do better in other areas.

How childish.

I'm 65 - - I see today the results in my 10 year old granddaughters behavior and right to be anything she wants - - - from the dedicated efforts and heartbreaks of women who came before her.

Gays are still fighting for that right. To be gay/lesbian and flippant about Equal Rights is really an insult. IMO

Let's do this again. It is not about belief.

It is about Equal Rights.

People that hate something, do so because of their beliefs. People don't just out of the blue, flip a coin to decide what they hate, and what they don't. People believe things about gay people, and that drives the hatred. There was a time I hated gay people too, until something shook up my belief system, and made me think about it different. And it wasn't people calling me names and shouting about how wrong I was.

Yeah, it must be hard to be constantly surrounded by images of gay couples and references to gay sex and marketing of gay-oriented products and...oh wait, it's actually gay people who have to put up with that from straight people. Talk about getting in people's faces -- there's almost no escape from the heterosexuals! Seriously, spend a day just counting up every reference you see to straight relationships, sex and romance in the media and all around you. Forget about gay folks for a while and just try to count how in your face that really, constantly is. Then ask yourself how you would feel if every one of those counts was actually a gay reference. If you're this hysterical now, your freaking head would explode if you had to put up with even one tiny scrap of what gay people endure every day.

Equal Rights for humans is Equal Rights for humans. Personal belief is irrelevant. I don't care what you believe - - it means nothing in the whole of Equal Rights.

At my age I don't have time to waste on stupidity.

Actually it makes you worse than a homophobe.

Who gave you the right to judge others? Absolutely no one gives a flying hoot what you do or don't condone

So i suppose you support equal rights for pedophiles too then? Serious question too. This is where many people that claim to be all about equal rights prove they are liars.

Will you also defend the westboro church or however that is spelled rights to freedom of protest?

Guess what. Screw you.

Society as a whole - - now supports Gay equality according to latest poles.

Human is Human. Not really sure what you and those who think like you are.

Annee, you really are not getting the point of hillynilly's post. What he is saying is spot on, and the only thing that makes any logical, and ethical sense. The only correct behaviour when confronted with a discussion on homosexuality is to say 'I don't care if you are a homosexual'. To me that means 'i dont judge you', ' your sexuality has no bearing on what I think of you'.

Is that not correct? To me it sounds logical, fair, and very balanced.

That's just goofy. It's a great example of illogical thinking. You might as well ask why people who support equal rights for all don't also support the right of murderers to murder people. Obviously, sometimes the rights of all people to be free clash, and we have to decide which right is more important. The right of a child not to be molested, or a person not to be murdered, outweighs the right of a deviant to express himself, in the same way the safety of a crowd outweighs the right of a person in it shout "fire" if there isn't one.

Well just in case you didn't know, a pedophile is not necessarily a child molester, and vice versa. The hatred of pedophiles is exactly the same as the hatred of gay people used to get some years ago.

No, it's not the same, because there's no such thing as a child who has a sexual orientation toward adults or a child who can consent to sex with an adult.

If you weren't speaking of molesting when you said "equal rights for pedophiles" then what did you mean? I do support the right of a person to think whatever they want inside their head, but so far we do have that...so far.
