Has America become the land of special interest and home of the double standard?

Lets see: if we lie to the Congress, it's a felony and if the Congress lies to us its just politics; if we dislike a black person, we're racist and if a black person dislikes whites, its their 1st Amendment right; the government spends millions to rehabilitate criminals and they do almost nothing for the victims; in public schools you can teach that homosexuality is OK, but you better not use the word God in the process; you can kill an unborn child, but it is wrong to execute a mass murderer; we don't burn books in America, we now rewrite them; we got rid of communist and socialist threats by renaming them progressive; we are unable to close our border with Mexico, but have no problem protecting the 38th parallel in Korea; if you protest against President Obama's policies you're a terrorist, but if you burned an American flag or George Bush in effigy it was your 1st Amendment right.

You can have pornography on TV or the internet, but you better not put a nativity scene in a public park during Christmas; we have eliminated all criminals in America, they are now called sick people; we can use a human fetus for medical research, but it is wrong to use an animal.

We take money from those who work hard for it and give it to those who don't want to work; we all support the Constitution, but only when it supports our political ideology; we still have freedom of speech, but only if we are being politically correct; parenting has been replaced with Ritalin and video games; the land of opportunity is now the land of hand outs; the similarity between Hurricane Katrina and the gulf oil spill is that neither president did anything to help.

And how do we handle a major crisis today? The government appoints a committee to determine who's at fault, then threatens them, passes a law, raises our taxes; tells us the problem is solved so they can get back to their reelection campaign.

What has happened to the land of the free and home of the brave?

I had this sent via email and was very intrigued by it. It's sad but true. Not looking for any feedback on it but thought I would share. This was my first thread so I'm sure I messed something up.

It's all part of the cycle of empires. Everything that shimmers must fade away. Corruption is like erosion, it's always there, subtly decaying something once great.

It's a downward spiral.

I would imagine the people that dont want to work make up a small proportion of people on welfare/benefits...as like here in the UK.

I dont remember signing anything when i was born saying i would work my entire life to benefit the elite and to pay for criminal activities and murder??

If people dont want to work then so be it...i thought we were free??

A Fast Food outlet that Goes to war because it can.

No matter how tyranical our Government becomes, as long there is air in the lungs of true American patroits, such as myself, America will always be the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. Our gov't doesn't define what America is, it shows that we need to start letting our "leaders" know enough is enough. It will come to an end and fast. Thats my prediction.

Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then travelling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV.
And the most British thing of all? Suspicion of anything foreign.
Oh and......
Only in Britain... can a pizza get to your house faster than an
ambulance.
Only in Britain... do supermarkets make sick people walk all the wayto the back of the shop to get their prescriptions while healthy people can Buy cigarettes at the front.
Only in Britain... do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries and a DIET coke.
Only in Britain... do banks leave both doors open and chain the pens to the counters.
Only in Britain... do we leave cars worth thousands of pounds on the Drive and lock our junk and cheap lawn mower in the garage.
Only in Britain... do we use answering machines to screen calls and then have call waiting so we won't miss a call from someone we didn't want to talk to in the first place.
Only in Britain... are there disabled parking places in front of a Skating rink.

NOT TO MENTION..

3 Brits die each year testing if a 9v battery works on their tongue.

142 Brits were injured in 1999 by not removing all pins from new shirts

58 Brits are injured each year by using sharp knives instead of screwdrivers.

31 Brits have died since 1996 by watering their Christmas tree while the fairy lights were plugged in.

19 Brits have died in the last 3 years believing that Christmas decorations were chocolate.

British Hospitals reported 4 broken arms last year after cracker pulling accidents.

101 people since 1999 have had broken parts of plastic toys pulled out of the soles of their feet.

We are in backwards world, bad is good, humans are evil, Christians act nothing like Jesus, and we are working towards destroying ourselves and our environment.

Here's the problem, when said free nonworker applies for all sorts of aid, cash, food, medical, Etc. and the other working people have to foot the bill.

Sometimes i wonder what it would be like if one good person would be allowed to come along and point out all the "Wrong" in the world However people who consider themselves intellegent seem to lack any sense of morality whatsoever and those who Are good People with a Great sense of Morality and caring will be seen as weak and dumb yet they are probably the only chance this world has but as you say, Weak is considerd evil because Good seeks to Rule over evil so evil is Unhappy when its opressed by Good, Its a shame as well because the world is a beautifull place but as long as Evil is the majority the good people can never oppose them,

Remember...that bit of paper in your pocket is just that...a worthless piece of paper.
Also...the money said scrounger takes from the system goes straight back in the system through the taxation of everything they buy. So these scroungers are also contributing to the society in which we live.

The only thing they dont pay is tax on their earnings...they pay all the other taxes.

Now lets look at the bigger picture...corporations defraud the tax system daily to the tune of billions yet no one pays a blind bit of notice. Vodafone got off paying 6 billion in tax, Topshop got away with not paying billions in tax, Barclays paid 2.4% tax on its profits...not 28% like other companies are forced to....you have fallen for the propaganda hook line and sinker. Whilst these big companies refuse to pay what they owe its the little man with a crappy existance that bears the brunt from society.

Lets say 1m people are true scroungers and dont want to work...how much tax would they realistically pay?? PAYE is 22% in the uk so if these people were earning say 15k a year they would have a tax liability of about 2000 each...that would mean a total of 2 billion in lost tax. Yet 1 company can defraud the system of 6 billion...its laughable!!

Technically the Terrorists are seeking to Opress evil in their eyes, And to be honest i see where they are coming from however their exremist tactics and lack of real courage means they will be flyswatted by the beast that is america, Then again if a Muslim stood up with courage and expressed his views on how to better the world would get himself shot for basically saying "Wouldnt it be nice if we could all get along?" because the american goverment seek to Opress the exact change that the People want and need to happen and act all Dumbstruck when their trade-centres get blown up, surely the American goverment would have been intellgent enough to understand that if it went around bullying and pushing around other countries it was gonna essentially get punched in the face by someone who had had enough of it, Now most bully's after been punched would back off and see the error of their ways BUT NO this bully decides to push its wieight around some more and impose its ideals upon a Society that has no interest on conforming to Evil ideology and to be honest just want to be left alone, People and famillys are been torn apart over one Bullys need for Power and Fossil fuels.
