Man Dies After Three-Day Video Game Binge

This is funny, this whole story seemed familiar to me till I found this....

I know china has alot of people but this is almost the same story... Hell the picture is almost the same.
Wondering if its just a slow news day. You know there is really nothing going on in the world right now... So lets just redo news we already reported on 4 years ago. No wonder we are so bass ackwards here in this country, we get spoon fed garbage from the media daily and eat it up. This isnt news its a distraction...

sorry but proper loser what the hell is or was wrong with this guy even babies know to eat and sleep, With the US in mind keep the chinese addicted to games

so the cyber cafe never closes? the owner let a guy sit there for 3 days playing? he probably died from drinking 5 hour energys for 3 days straight. made his heart go boom. the body odor alone would have been enough for me to ask the man to leave if i were the owner.

i mean imagine if a casino let someone play the same slot machine for three days straight. accountability. i think the owner shares some of the blame here.

The game in question was the open beta for RIFT which is a new MMO that is like Warcraft (you can see the ads all over this website btw) A very enjoyable game but the fact that this guy did this for a BETA is even more baffling as those charactures get wiped on launch.


the 1500 was probobly other so called Free 2 play games that sell buffs in their cash shops,

Now I play mmo's, in fact I was a participant in the same beta but sometimes you gotta put the mouse down.

It's nearly impossible to sit there for 3days straight. (For a healthy normal person who eats and drinks daily).

You would have to get up and pee or get a drink. Your body would FORCE IT.

Sorry, I'm calling hoax. Maybe the guy really died, but like 99% of this story is being left out.

You don't understand the addictive power that some games have. "Just this level" or "Ahh, I'll turn it off when I get here". When I was younger I could play all day, regardless of the time or other bodily functions. Thankfully I was only allowed on the playstation for a certain amount each day

Um nah it's not... If you check this particular kid out he has quite a few 'tantrum' videos around, based on various things... one was when hjis father gave him a 'truck' instead of a car or something.

this actually does happen, and as long as that person is wagering money the casino could care less. I've seen meth addicts pass out asleep at the video keno machines numerous times.

Meh. Rift is a clone of WoW. I have been in beta since it opened.

Maybe RIFT is the next big thing so they are laying the groundwork for demonization.

Agreed, its mainly due to an health issue then a gaming related issue, afterall people have stayed up to 3 days straight before.

my son and his wife play. she's as big of a mmo fan as he is. they are a really cute couple. he's 6'3" and so is she lol i'm only 5'4. lol they are in one of the top guilds in the world, have all the achievements, all the stuff, all the mounts, (except ashes of a'lar) and all the little extras like the music box for the lament of the highborne

and the glowy light thing, and the frost dwarf costume thingy, etc. i just can't bring myself to be that dedicated.

I am a former game addict so I have some knowledge on this subject, and some games did start making me act way out of character and inside the realm of sanity. I call these games - visual stimulants, in combo with some pointless level chasing scheme which turns you into a giant hamster on a wheel cranking out hours and dollars playing them online.

Sorry but before you post other lies in you anti-video game binge: most of these videos are fake, the one you linked to is fake, the angry german kid is completely fake as there are several versions of the video with different overdubs (from Unreal Tournament to Quake 3) and he made it just for fun to see what reactions he got.

And you don't die from 'too much video games'. That person clearly had some health problems.
I remember the days when we made the LAN parties, they went on for 3-4 days, with barely any sleep,sure we eat and drank enough, but you can 'survive' something like that without any problems.
And most people who play video games have a life, a real life. All those cliches are ridiculous and one should wonder why such extreme cases only happen in Asia.

Some people call things fake because it seems fake to them, they have no experience with people like them so they can't identify with them in the real world.
The angry german kid was a real kid reacting to his Unreal Tournament game, I also know several gamers who react EXACTLY the same, it's real reactionary impulses to some games.

You have the free will choice to not believe anything you don't want to believe, but this world is full of people who do insane things.

No they're fake, which can be proven with a few google searches.
Most people well versed in memes know this.
You may know some people 'like' this, but those videos are fake.

yeah i think if i was going to take the time to get a specific mount (other than achieve mounts like war bear), i'd go for ashes of a'lar. beautifully done animations.
