Because I for one do. Our "government" is a tangled mess compared to the July 4, 1776 version of it. Our founding fathers had a vision for a free land full of hope and prosperity. One ruled not by a tyrant but a great country ruled by the people. They worked very hard to produce a document that they felt would help to form a country of freedom. A document that would prevent the government from having to much power over the people. I ask you ATS, do you feel like this mess we live in today is what our founding fathers fought so hard to establish? I do not believe so. Even if you do not believe in conspiracies you can see evidence of a corrupt government simply by watching the news.

The events happening in Egypt are happening because the people of a country are sick and tired of what their government is doing. And i ask you, why do we not do the same? We are the people of a once great nation and should stand for what we believe in. FIGHT for what we have lost! The disgusting mess of government we have today still stands, still robs, still kills because WE STILL LET THEM! We outnumber them with tremendous odds. Are we so blind, so scared, so crazy to believe that we don't have the power to change this? So many countries hate the USA not by what you and I have done, but what our "government" has decided for us. I for one am plenty capable of making my own decisions and you are too. My fellow Americans, we can make a difference. We CAN live in the free country that they fought so hard to establish many years ago. All we have to do is try. If we choose not to, we will continue to drown in the lies that pour from our government's mouth every single day.

I wouldn't say hopeless and angry for myself. More like simply on edge you know that feeling you get when you feel something is a foot but you can't do anything about it? Something like that these are troubled times we are heading into and it seems to play against what I personally think, and what I personally feel with my instincts. I hope that makes sense but that is my attitude currently.

I had a great post... then I hit a wrong button. *sigh* Instead of retyping I will just sum up:

1. I am not Angry or Helpless, I see what is happening with the corruption of the government and the failing system and it is BEAUTIFUL.

2. Why is is beautiful? Because the people are not going to stand for it much longer. The more success we see in people defending their rights (beliefs) the more people will rise up.

3. TPTB are kicking themselves because they never anticipated that they could only push us so far before we all snap.

Wake Up, Rise Up and We Will Change The Future.

Peace and Love, Always

PS - I love when the OP says "We outnumber them with tremendous odds". Damn right we do, let no one forget that.

Our elite abandoned our country and it's founding principles and spirit with the onset of globalism. They are pursuing raw global power and wealth centralization in their hands now. The police state and thought crime of domestic terrorism which has nothing to do with Islamic terrorism now, is their effort to keep us from getting in the way.

Why would any nation of people give up their own successful constitutional republic for the nightmare of being ruled by unelected globalists who act as it serves their interest and nightmarish ideology? In order for this to happen, they need to bring the world to it's knees through toppling governments and creating the suffering and death of global economic collapse.

We can beat them if we rise up and defeat their globalist "solution" for the economic collapse they are creating. They are going to go for "reform" of a international Fed and global currency. They want global taxation power in the name of energy use and polution and wealth redistribution to create a global government Treasury. They want a global court that supercedes all national judicial power and laws that surpercede all National laws. They want a global unity of imposed spirtual beleifs to form the basis of a global culture socially engineered to serve loyality to and the interest of a global government.

You are sad because you are witnessing globalists destroy the nations including your own for a global dictatorship run by meglomaniacs.

You say you don't like big government. You are for people power. Do you agree that socialism needs to play a more important part in the American system? Like a socialised healthcare system, banking system etc to run along side the private sector?

The rich elite have grown through capitalism. The rich get richer and have more power and control over the most that don't. With socialst systems like we have iN Europe, every citizen has influence of the way they are run, indirectly through elections.

Um... There is no such thing as a dumb thread when people are expressing their belief, whether you agrees with them or not is another matter. Why waste time posting a reply saying "dumb thread", what point are you trying to prove? It is beyond me how some people can act so trivial.

If you have FACTS that you can post that discredit what the OP is actually saying, proving that he is wrong to feel angry or helpless, then by all means post it. Otherwise, don't waste everyone's time with idiotic remarks.

OP, I was with you until I read this part. The Middle East uprising we are witnessing has very little to do with common people rising up and creating change. Stop falling for MSM baloney.

It's orchestrated by the Elites/NWO to create turmoil in the ME, start wars, collapse the dollar, and convince Americans to drill on U.S. soil. It's a sham. Why deal with a bunch of arrogant propped up dictators over there when they can just focus on the one we have here?

People don't benefit from chaos. The elite who move into power with solutions are the ones who benefit from the chaos of fallen governments and the ensuing collapsed economies.

Who is going to move into the vacuume created by the protestors? Why did our own government train the coup leaders in Egypt? Why was google so visibly involved in organizing and funding the coup leaders?

Our corrupt elite (corporations, Unions, and politicans) and the globalist elite are totally behind the current chaos and the collapsing of currency and govenrments to benefit their desire to replace nation government with a global government and national currencies and economic governing systems with a global curriency and global economic Fed in the sky. They will fill the vacuume created by the coups by establishing an an even more corrupt global dictatorship with all wealth and power centralized in their own hands - far away from the people.

Not that I disagree with you, this is also a possibility but is also harder to prove. Do you have some posts, articles that you can link to so other people can understand why you feel this way? I look at Egypt and the Middle East and I see the uprising as the OP did.

I agree.

It's just socialsm is such a dirty word to many Americans, or so it seems. It's likened to a dictatorship or communism. We don't have that in Europe.

Our systems aren't perfect yet they balance well, allowing the public to own key services whilst the private sector keeps them on their toes to provide better services.

I understand where you are coming from and I don't disagree with you. I can see the alternate agenda and I can tell that the PTB are crushing their own system regardless of the expense. That being said, IF enough people didn't like where things where heading and we all said NO. They can't force it upon the masses. Never underestimate the power of the people getting together (that's just my opinion though). I for one will not sit idly by and let them implement a Police State New World Order... and I think that many other people feel the same way.

Also, my question for you specifically. Do you not like the idea of having a global currency and global government? I just think that it is something the world will need one day soon, especially if we want to move further into the galactic realm... we need to be unified here first.

Yes, and unfortunately Jono the media can portray anything they want to the public and if they think socialism is garbage, they will manipulate most of the viewers to believe so to. Showing only evidence to back up their beliefs and never showing evidence to prove otherwise.

Use Google to look up this evidence of the elite's involvement in these coups - the creation of chaos. From this chaos and economic collapse, they will fill the vacuume with a global currency and government.

You can discover Google's involvement with coordinating and planning the riots. Discover the wikileak State Department cable that discussed the US government's involved in training Egypt's coup leaders to topple the Egyptian government. This was reported in the Telegraph out of the UK. Soros has openly supported this movement for chaos and so has all his political activist and media organizations. He wants a global currency and government to take over from the vacuume of chaos as governments and economies topple. You can bet there is more involvement of global corporations, Unions and the US government than has been leaked out.

Witness the globalists' Corporate media's propaganda to spin and cheer on the chaos... If it were not to the benefit of the corrupt elite they would not be permitting their media to support it. It sure is not in the interest of the US to have our oil supplies interrupted so that our own economy and currency collapses. We are likely to suffer food inflation so bad due to oil price increases (transporation), Americans will be seriously harmed . It is not in the interest of a constitutional Republic to have Marxist rioters and protestors led by Soros' political empire and the international Unions overturn our system of government and destroy our private property yet the corporate media cheers on this coup attempt in our own country.

Thankyou, I love when people provide evidence to back up their claim. I am looking forwards to the food for thought.

And I also want to apologize, I am not American so I do not see the BS stories that the MSM feeds Americans. I find that (although to some extent it was doing the same thing) our Canadian media reporting does a better job of covering several sides of the story.

Capitalism in the United States is not practiced in its intended form. In the way that Communism was ruined. It's human flaw that keeps systems from working in a pure form.
