That's funny. I actually used to know this guy. He is a promoter at a few clubs in Philadelphia. He promotes "Dracula's Ball" among other events. I used to go to one of the clubs. It was called Shampoo. Another guy that hung out there also had the fangs and the look. He actually designed the weapons in the "Blade" movies.

This is no secret society, just a bunch of people living their own "reality".

Attention whore! Maybe a well connected attention whore, but that's what it amounts to. Goths, Emo's, vampires, and even the purple haired punk rockers from back when I was a kid, all attention whores. This guy should have outgrown it by now though. He's gonna be damn scary when he's about 90 don't you think. Picturing Grandpa from "The Munsters"

He's nearly a senior citizen now. It was 10 years ago when I would talk to him at the club. It's funny to see he's still doing it. I think these people really convince themselves they are real. The guy that did the design work for "Blade" is dead now, and not from a stake in the heart. So, we know they are not immortal.

He is not a Vampire..
He is a Mensch!!! lol

Man,
This guy is fantastic!

The banks do not enjoy when people actually know the laws, do the research, and take action!

This guy is brilliant!

Who cares about his vampire teeth.
He actually did what the banks are banking on the people never doing! lol

Beautiful!

Mythologically vampires have never been human.

You can go back all the way to Sumerian myth and they were never remotely human. Its only in recent Western European lore did the vampire change from a demonic nocturnal being to an undead human to a species of human.

Look up Lamia and Lilith.

In Jewish lore, Lilith and her spawn, the Lilim, actually come from another world.

So if they were real, they wouldn't be on CNN and sure wouldn't look like someone that played Vampire: the Masquerade too much as a kid.

I wonder if he can survive a bullet to the head. Should be possible if he'd a real vampire.

Poor guy. I want to make fun of him too but he really must have major self esteem issues to want to be someone or someTHING else.

He found a way that others did not. The fact that his imagination is overactive, driving him to think he is a fictional being is completely coincidental.

Maybe it isn't.
Maybe we've all had 'science and math, science and math, science and math' pounded in our heads so long with the idea that only, ahem, very logical, serious, ENGINEERS and such are really smart.

Watching all these revolutions everywhere, the organizers I keep seeing are artists, and the students in the art schools are the ones that got the ball rolling using social media repeatedly.

There's a REASON that the powers that be HATE artists and imaginative types. Imagination is a kind of intelligence.

You can call this guy a fake, a pop culture whatever...all day long, but he looks very artistic to me. He's used his own body as canvas, and his lifestyle as well.

MAYBE he's 'connected' to intelligence because he IS intelligent.
Underestimate these creatures of the night if you will, but I choose to respect them.

The best way to go about this whole vampire bs is to pretend your a vampire slayer when they say they are vampire. The look on their face is priceless. They start getting defensive then you laugh and say im a logic/ vampire slayer i use logic to slay vampires. When they ask how do you kill a vampire you say its easy how do you kill something that isn't real? A:You don't believe in it. You have been slayed Ps you smell like dirt and werewolf's are cooler

I know a household where a mere mention of aspirations to become some sort of vanmpyre would result in you know those backhands that make your whole head spin around three times.
For the love of God
People have enough trouble with mandatory holes in their body.
To think that we should encourage the lifestyle of some werewolf squidstick to come around and poke a few more holes in you for the hell of it...

I vote for no vanmpyres.

Look up to a soaring eagle man, not a lowly mosquito.....

The real story here is that a man won a lawsuit against a mega bank and in doing so not only upheld his rights, but paved the way for others to follow suit. Patrick is a wonderful guy and long time supporter/participant in our community - Dracula's Ball: www.draculasball.com... This said...

This entire thread shows an almost complete lack of education and informed basis of opinion on vampirism and of those who self-identify as real vampires. If you're going to wade into the vampire community at least do more than armchair research or repeating the same old played-out stereotypes and other misconceptions. You have to be willing to look past the fangs and dark exterior if you want to ever truly understand who we are.

The vampire community has undergone increased study by academics the past several years. This has culminated in a number of research studies, publications, and continued sociological research into the fields of identity theory, new religious movements, modernity, psychology, and deviant leisure.

If you want to understand the structure and function of the vampire community you should pick up a copy of Joseph Laycock's book "Vampires Today: The Truth About Modern Vampirism" - Praeger Publishers 2009 - www.amazon.com... or through your local library - www.worldcat.org...

Below are just a few of the publications concerning real vampirism you should invest the time to read.

Great News Everyone! Now I've got this itch to reinstall Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines. That game was great and had some good vampiric coverups. Ancient evil could be your ____ and you wouldn't even know it!

Personally, I think bloodsucking nightmare creatures would be awesome to study if they existed, but its too far fetched for me outside of tabletop and videogames. ....Oh, and the occasional larp.

Edit: Not hating on Vamps or Merc, who provides some cool links, just teasing. I just feel that way due to the fact I had a buddy who was obsessed with being one, but everything he did was a giant facade.

I feel a bit stupid to give a reply on this thread somehow but anyways, here I go....

It is broad daylight and this guy sitting there doesn't even smoke.....

Conclusion...he is not a real vampire......wake-up dude......real vampires start to smoke and then burn to crisp in day-light.

I used to have a nice pair of false vamp-fangs done up for me by one of the special effects guys from star trek. I also used to larp V:TM.

I've met people like this.

You could assume they are "real vampires" in that they exist and they call themselves vampires. Since there are no real vampires, these "real vampires" are the only ones you're going to find.

They are just people who lack some aspect of an identity, and found one that tickles them. Having been out in "vamp drag" before, I can totally see what they are getting off on. A rather amusing number of people have a serious reality-gap. It is pretty amusing.
