You are so naive if you think that! You can't put our morals and values on a culture that is alien to them, it just does not work. Look at the history of Africa before making daft claims - it always has and always will be tribal. The whites are just another tribe that have been around in SA for around 400 years or so. Hatred and anger and violence drive that whole continent, whether it is white on black, black on black or black on white. The truth is the farms were won as spoils of wars against the african tribes, who had themselves won those lands in wars against other tribes - its how Africa works and always has done. They can't complain now about what happened 200 years ago.

The violence against the farmers is totally unacceptable in todays society, especially as those farms help drive the economy of the country.

It annoys me when people don't actually look at the real history of a place if it shows the black people in a bad light, it is easier to blame the whites. Perhaps Europeans should not have colonised the earth, then all those happy indigenous peoples could still be living their stone age ideal lifestyles of warfare, slavery and persecution.

Come on... There must be some solution to it all. I know as well as anybody else violence is a way of life round here, but they're as much human as we are an I'm sure if educated they could govern a country pretty well. Maybe its this continent... brings out the savage in all of us.

Yo have my sympathies my friend SG, I meet many Rhodesian friends in the British armed forces seeking nationality here in Britain , At that time and some of the horror stories i was told (and I'm from Belfast) was unbelievable, Like my good friends sister who's arms were cutoff with an axe below the elbows, sheer terrorist tactics, Which should be dealt with in the same manner, Only worse, there's a good book called "Devils edge" (I think?) Which details the tactics used by the then Rhodesian defence force, I was so enraged at the time me and my old veteran friends went to the South African embassy to get visas, (Not Col Callon but he is linked to Belfast) but were advised by he staff to not go that route.. like i say you have my sympathies my friend S&F

Thanks.

It's good to hear that people aren't as ignorant to the horrors taking place here as I thought.
Sad thing is people in other countries aren't ever told on whats taking place in Africa. Sometimes I think these tyrants and dictators are being protected. How else is that that they're allowed to get away with these horrible acts?

I have a lot of friends from Rhodesia myself and never like listening to their stories because it makes me sad and at the same time scares me because what happened there might be or will be happening here if we don't do
something.

Wouldn't advise you guys to go there either. Not so long ago someone planned a coup on the Zimbabwean government but unfortunately he underestimated Mugabe and his thugs. All the mercenaries were arrested and locked away. A lot of families who's husbands were part of the mercs are still trying to get them out of there.

Thing is it's not like people weren't warned that ZANU might turn into another tyrannical government. As usual these warnings just fell on deaths ears and when the world finally woke up it was already too late.

Send my condolences to your friend. One never gets used to such stories, and God forbid we ever do.

Its you that deserves the thanks SG, the world at that time was a different place (in the 1980s) and Britain and Ireland provided some of the best soldiers of fortune at that time (still can LOL), I am long past that type of work now, I hope for your countrymen to get together and use the political route to achieve your aims. (If it can work here in the north of Ireland it can work anywhere) There is a lot of "rabble rousers" in your part of the world, don't let them take control. and if in doubt your more than welcome to come here.(It rains alot but the cracks good and there's always the Moonshine) added as friend Good luck SG up:

I think the Farm attack brigade have lost all perspective, a bit of digging shows that whites make up around 10% of our murder figures putting the yearly number at something around 1825.

The 3000 "Genocide" figure thrown about all the time is a minute fraction of the more or less 25000 whites that have been murdered since the end of apartheid.
This is aside from the fact that some of that 3000 was not white but Indian or Colored etc...

While its fairly obvious that many of these murders are racially motivated, I don't think its a Governmental (as a whole) orchestrated thing, that is, its not a hidden ANC agenda, I expect there are smaller portions of the Government involved though, mostly at a municipal level.
People all about getting the land and wealth back or in most cases "back" from the whites.

If true, some info I came across recently will multiply these numbers though, there is a Murder number and a Homicide number that are separated by the police, and the Homicide number which is not reported to the public is used with wild abandon by SAPS when classifying cases.
Obviously this is done to get the numbers looking rosy when the time comes to report the numbers to the public.
As I'm told, If a person knew the person who killed them it becomes a homicide or if there is and sort of funny issue with the case it can be dumped into the homicide number.
On top of that they are cooking the books in other ways too, the Carte blanch and 3rd Degree investigations gave me a good peek into that, "loosing" dockets, payoffs, blackmail by the police etc...

Well most of what I've written here is just rough research.

Totally forgot about the missing dockets. Remember watching that on 3rd degree, too.

Sounds like you've done a little more in depth research on the matter than me.

I still believe that if a government wants to get away with genocide it could do so by extending it over a long period of time.U can get away with just saying it's ordinary crime.

Either way, we agree there's a big possibility the government is involved and that these farm murder, murders in general, could be racially motivated.

Though, as far as the world is concerned this is all just theories. There's not enough evidence to prove the government might be turning into some fascist regime. Personally I think there's a split in the ANC, and one part might be tilting to fascism.

The other thing I wanna know is why there's so many South Africans on this site?? They just keep growing in numbers.

Because ATS is AWESOME

Where else can I unload my UFO stories and not look like a complete nutter

Well really, I've been on and off ATS for years, I had different user names over the years which I have forgot the user name for, never mind the password.
And I have been lurking here quite a bit to over the past few months, some other thread made me finally take the plunge and make another user name, but I couldn't post on that thread right away for some reason.
So the local SA threads were the winners of my newest posts

Personally I think there's a split in the ANC, and one part might be tilting to fascism.

That they stoop to dirty tricks down here in the western cape that make life worse for their own people and how they treat their own people in the areas they control shows they are all about one thing and that's filling their own pockets.
this 300 billion for parliamentary salaries could keep 400 thousand people earning over R60000 a month for that budget year, and R60K per month is some pretty high flying living I'm sure you'll agree.
400 thousand people!

Perhaps this the reason the system is so corrupt, That's alot of monies going into corrupt pockets, and they will only look after there own families interests, never mind there local constituents, I hate to say it but you guys could do with being back in with " auntie blighty ", Extreme i know but it could stabilise the region, IMHO..

No offence meant

Maybe. It could possibly stabilize the country, but remember there's people here who fought against the brits for independence. Though the way the things are looking now I think some would consider it.

Even so, it would never happen. Just being realistic here.

Think it's best just to try and get the idea through that the ANC doesn't look out for the lower class(blacks). They make up most of their support.

Only 13million(of working age) out of the 50 actually have jobs. 5 million people pay taxes. That's a lot of strain on the upper and middle class. Now they see billions getting stuffed in the pockets of corrupt government officials. Not that they even deserve that much. They haven't done anything except cause more problems.

It's Not About Race. It's About The Evil Agenda Of Tyrannical Government

That is the core problem. You see it in the Europe, the US and all over. Stir up hate between two groups so they do not see who the actual evil ones are behind all their problems.

Yup, divide and conquer. That's always been the tactic of dictators. Just look at Gaddafi who divided the different tribes in libya. They say the tribes have united ever since the protests.
