“… a Tibetan Lama named Senjur, abbott of the Vajrayana community in Vancouver BC. Several times during our month-long stay in Johnstone Strait, we set him up in the cabin of our boat to chant his Buddhist prayers through an underwater sound system into the water. Whereas the Western musicians elicited either a clear response or complete disinterest from the whales, the Lama’s chanting often caused the orcas to draw very close to our speakers, and then turn dead silent. Midway through the excerpt, listen closely as either A6 or A2 “informs” the rest of their pod where they are located.”

Wow, thanks for sharing. That's really interesting.

It's amazing what these Buddhists can do.
So much about nature and our connection with it we don't know.

Wish I can sing a melody in the forest and animals come to my command. I'll rule the world.

His voice sounds very metalic and a bit distorted, much like the whales sounds to us. The question I have is, I know what he said, but what did they hear, aside from sounds?

We are all part of the circle and this just goes to prove it further. Thanks for sharing this with us.
The Lama was using what sounded like throat singing...seems that the whales might have understood
and wanted others in their pod to share in the experience.

In all that is going on in the world today, the negativity...this is a bit of light that more should focus on.

Again..thanks and a S & F for you.

I sincerely think that whales are as conscious as we are or even more...

Did you think I was being sarcastic? They were listening so intently, perhaps they were hearing something in their language. Just wondered, probably should not have said so.

Because I want the world to be something more than it appears.

No, why? Did you think I was being sarcastic? My whale dictionary is Orca-to-German so it will take a bit longer for me to get a translation as my German is rusty.

They sound so excited, like they've found something they've forgotten or that they were looking for. Imagine what they could be telling the others! Whales are such fascinating creatures.
edit on 2/19/2011 by Kennit because: Grotesque grammatical error.

This is amazing, Its all about vibration, if you tune in to a certain frequency and combining it with various waves you will have some intense effect on whales. Not a sadistic or anyting, but if you experiment on fish tanks where you have a tone generator and a head phone cushioned to the glass and try various rife frequency, you will get some wierd result.
