Warning for language and disturbing images.

Bit dated but this was important stuff in the 80's haha...

Remember Tubthumping? Few know this band is a group of anarchist activists, and has been around since the early 80's anarchist scene.

(one of the few from Crass that is repeatable in respectable company lol)

Might be tough to listen to for some but the lyrics are what matters with this band. These guys were the real deal, no compromises, they released their own material and refused to play by the music industry game. They sold enough records to receive gold status but they were ignored, and they mostly still are by the mainstream industry, even though there has been some recognition of their 'success' in recent years. They were more than just a band that made music they were genuine activists.

Canadian singer / songwriter Bruce Cockburn performs his classic song "Call It Democracy" live on Canadian Television. In it, he characterizes the International Monetary Fund as a global parasitic banking oligarchy bent on reducing the 3rd world to poverty stricken heaps while pocketing the wealth for the developed Western Nations.

Recent developments in economies Iceland and Greece have shown the IMF and World Bank at work and have revealed that they have sucked the 3rd world dry and are now moving to new territory.

The world now watches as Greece, the birthplace of democracy, is struck with deadly riots as a result of the IMF bailout. Generations of Socialism have reduced these proud people to austerity measures the will result in economic slavery of future generations.

This song was written in 1985, 25 years before the current crisis, but it is a scene played out many times before. If we don't take heed and eliminate the world banking elite, they will suck us dry too.
Also this Todd Snider song I love.

There are 2 video's and they are speechs that are good for inspiration:
The first is JFK's innaguration speech, where he presented his vision for not only the country, but the drive for the world as well.
The second is the original speech given by Edward R. Murrow, when he was going after Sen. McCarthy, and explained that just cause we speak out against the government, it is not disloyal.

The amount of knowledge he drops in this song is amazing.

This one appeals more to the emotional side of things, one of my favorite songs from Prince Ea.

...dont see the above as political?.... is it too cynical to believe that everything has been controlled by politics?... i dont think so... its all politics, imo - everything - love, the pursuit of happiness, free will, beliefs, religion, love, sex, how you raise your kids - whatever - it all comes down to you telling me how i should live based upon your perception of whats right and whats wrong and THAT is called many things but, the bottom line is, its politics and the horrible thing about it is that its used as an excuse to kill people and its been going on forever... when we will we ever learn?....

...como si dice - seems like it means nothing anymore...
