hello Ats!

I just got out of my bed, and looked out my window. I could see stars all over the sky as its a clear sky right now. As Im scanning the sky I noticed a BRIGHT red star in the SE region f the sky!

And now as im looking out my window there is a red/orange moon WTF ?!!?

The first red star I noticed is left of the Orion contellation. There are 2 more directly across the sky from Orion, they shouldnt be hard to see as they are brighter and stand out among the average white/yellow stars.

Dont try and tell me its Venus, Jupitar, Mercury and Mars just chillin and plain view
I wont accept bull#
Hope you guys can see it, as for the guys across the globe I guess this would of been yesterday for you. If you noticed anything please share.

Go Look ATS!

I am in southern ontario, Canada. My town sits right on Lake Ontario! Ive counted FIVE of these 'red stars' and they are flashing/strobing waaay more intense then the rest of the stars in the sky. dud in Washingston, your telling me your moon is white right now and not red... ?

its the same color of as a flame on a candle, red/orange. Beautiful yes, but random because i havent heard anyhting about these stars or the moon this week ...

You folks must never look up if you've never seen a red moon or stars? How odd.

The cause is minute particles of dust in the atmosphere and it usually happens shortly after moonrise, but can happen while it is overhead.

It would only look red from your area or and area also seeing the Moon through the particles in the air. Asking people in other locations to run out and look up is a bit silly for that reason.

It used to scare people before we were enlightened with science and education. Deny Ignorance folks.

Okay it's 00:18am here in Wales U.K.

I'm going to outside (I live in a very open area at the foot of a mountain)
As someone who usually watches the night sky every night, I will see if I can see something abnormal or to corroborate what has been said here.

(I'm assuming I should be able to see the same phenomenon even half a world away)

edit:
In my warm room I didn't even think of the possible weather outside, patchy clouds roughly covered 65-70% of the sky.
So I have nothing relevant to add as the argument could & should be made the phenomena could be happening in the area's I am unable to see.
I will keep watching this thread to see where it goes

Forgot to mention you also get a red moon during a Lunar Eclipse, but there are none happening right now.

you just got my attention. I too was out in my garden about three nights ago with my misses looking at the moon and stars. Imediately spotted a bright orange star left of orions belt that i have never seen before and was so taken back we checked the latest star maps on the internet. Apparently its star thats going supernova and is about to implode and appear to us as a 24 hour second sun for upto six weeks, and possibly before the end of 2012. Only thing is, like you i have noticed there are many of these bright orange stars now.

Exactly, left of Orion. for your information though, dont listen to # MSM tells you about anything.. all a cover up. There is LOTS of energy and activity happening in OUR solar system, wake up people. Theres more out there then stars and rocks...

well it's a nice sunny day here in n.z at the moe but last night me and my partner were walking to the bottle store
and we both noticed how big the moon was and had a weird colour to it almost and orange but not as strong as you describe. Can't comment about the stars as i live smack bang in the middle of the city and it's quite hard too see the stars, would be awesome if someone out there has a camera and can take pictures for us to have a look at.. someone posted above that there is a star going supernova i believe there is a thread here on ats already proberly many but we are actully begining to see it now, wow when it does go if it has not already it would deffintly be a sight to see
