Spaceweather.com says it arrived at 8:00pm EST but isn't as strong as they thought it would be.

I live in Concord Arkansas and worked in Heber Springs yesterday and I can tell you I didn't feel anything at all before and after I got to work. Now I will say on my way in to work which is a 27 mile drive, about 10 miles from Heber it did fell like my truck was trying to stall, or kinda a weird movement as I think it was trying to stall, and it has never done that, it only lasted about maybe 2 minutes off and on as I was driving. This was around 1:45p.m. Central time.

I am becoming weary of hearing of all this Solar Flare nonsense. Just stop it! Unfortunately, future members who are not aware enough to do a thorough search on ATS, will re-submit such "information".
Solar Flares have been occuring since before we became human. Just be fortunate that our humble planet still produces a magnetoshield to protect us.

Nonsense? Okay then what about 1859 when most powerful solar flare ever recorded set telegraph systems on fire? I know it is a very rare occurance but can you imagine what a solar flare on that same scale could do to us in this day and age when we have a hell of a lot more technology around to damage?

We didn't rely on electricity and satalites as much then though did we? Lots of members to enjoy it which is why we're tuned into this thread - I just wonder why you are following it if you are so sick of it?

There are many other threads here so why don't you go tune into what ever it is you are interested in.

It is a fact that birds and other assorted species, can see magnetic lines of flux,, which is this Shield of which u speak. And looking at some of the behaviour of the birds recently, and other species i'm of the mind that this Shield may be a suffering a bit and just not acting to kosher.

Yes, but it's now passed 10PM EST and nothing has happened. Not even a light has flickered in my house, and I've been texting pretty much all day so there are no problems with my cell phone either.

Geomagnetic storms last for days seeing as how the flare would be thousands of times bigger than Earth (not sure if you're aware of Earth's scale in the grand scheme of things). It will probably be a day or two before the Geomagnetic storm ends. Thus being said, it will be in waves and you will need to be following up until the 19th if you want to catch up on any occurrences. We should be getting and update from NOAA on the 18th.

Hold your horses, don't let them go just yet.
