Ive come across some reports the guy was working for CIA as well now. I am just a little confused though.. IF the guy was CIA, and is not registered as a Diplomat with immunity, I have no idea why the US Government would go on a news frenzy to say the guy was when its easily checked.
Unless they were hoping the verbal argument the guy had diplomatic immunity would have been enough for the guy to amke it to the embassy or out of the country.
