Moon directly overhead here in E Ky. Head is a little wonky. Is the moon approaching straight up there Kathy? Guys watch for it to peak over AK, then add about an hour, see what you get...?

Yes, it IS bad. Normally, anything that is a 2.5 or above in the US is AUTOMATICALLY posted. It normally is done in a minute or less of the quake happening.

That they are apparantly over riding this system to review before posting it really makes me nervous. I have NEVER seen them do this before! Has anyone else?

It tells me that those at USGS are taking this VERY SERIOUSLY.

I have been feeling some pressures in the lower right hand side of the back of my brain. Happens almost at the exact same time as an earthquake. had an intense twinge during the 4.0

Interesting these earthquake swarms. I sit on a major fault in CA that is overdue so I understand how you feel. Be prepared and try not to worry. You'll probably be killed by a twister long before an earthquake.

Yeah, the USGS response time is really backing up, especially in light of the increased intensity. I can't imagine how nerve-wracking this is for people in the area.

Wow is all I can say right now.

Guys, this is definately intensifying. The seismo is a mess with background 'noise' and more rumbling.

It's looking like almost constant micro quakes just a minute or two apart.

I am in full agreement with you!!! Most likely They are even reporting what They are is because of it being felt and of course US :-) .

Westcoast, did that come in a a single event or 2?

Since the soil is very sand and saturated, the moon is having a tidal effect on the ground. Think of it just like the tides. The ground ebbs and flows.

I don't want to frighten anymore with my passionate reactions. But I've been angry too long. When I first investigated these quakes in January, I used google to locate the quakes. I thought it was going to be hard to track down the drilling. It wasn't. They were everywhere. Gray rectangles carved into forests and fields. Then you notice the evaporating ponds full of toxic water. It enraged me.

If you look on Google Earth for the last 4.0 quakes, look a bit north and you'll find fracking pads.

This is an outrage. And so I rage.

It was two or three. The big one that I showed and then two smaller ones (prob 2.0 to 2.5) You can clearly see them on IRIS.

Take a look at this mess it is right now:

This is making ME nervous and I am no where near there. Something is happening guys,

Where is Robin???

Here is the IRIS link again: IRIS

I'm thoroughly enjoying this thread...I lived in the area of Sherman Oaks in the most damaged block (not counting the college campus) during the 1994 Northridge Quake. My block in Sherman Oaks was the cover of most magazines...the photo of the cars crushed by an apt building only revieling the lic. plates...the stairway to heaven...death, no power or water for 10 to 14 days, used the swimming pool for a cooler, had a charcoal grill (which was previously banned by landlord), slept outside for 3 or 4 days (police drove by 1st & 2nd nite) you were on your own...Lost my truck, had to find boards to close up windows, grocery store (Ralphs was on fire) had nothing, nearest store was 1 1/2 miles away (liquour store) & gauging for water & batteries...much more... Not telling you for fear mongering, only stating my personal experience...

There are many articles refering to Deep Water Drilling & Earthquakes (Sigsbee)...There was an earthquake in LA 1st or 2nd of AUG ...Deep Water Horizon was drilled near fault involved with trying to find the info as it was possibly related to something that happened in the gulf...
There are many articles that support earthquakes due to Fracking...it's nothing new, but the PTB knew we would be on it like Hot Cakes with the GOM & everything else going on...

Robin, in October or so, on the Quake Watch Thread I brought this area up as well. Puterman and I did some research then as well and we concluded the fracking. I kinda let it go - sort of as it simmered down during the winter months. Now they are full steam ahead as I posted in your corner. Tonight is going to be a very long night.

Or they just had more funds and created a new dept. to ensure greater accuracy can be that simple ,, nothing like a bureacracy if they can do it in triplicate,,

Thanks Robin so much. It has been several pages since this came up. What I want to know is when the moon is relatively over AK? Then add an hour, and check activity. I have gathered somehow, it would take the earth about an hour to react to the gravitational pull, is that about right give or take?
