That guy is hot, I like his tattoo and his style. Not all survivalists are toothless back woods idiots. BUT, what is really great is that men like him will make sure that even if you have to leave with NOTHING, not even a flashlight or matches, you WILL survive!

And thats my thought for the day, that no matter how prepared, no matter how much you have in your personal stores, ANYTHING can and IS happening, so first to be prepared mentally and with a positive attitude that is well in check if you even think you may choose to survive.

he could be onto something, but he's more likely a fear monger. If you haven't noticed, natural disasters and birth control being made more available to more people has slowed the population growth. Natural disasters and knocking out a lot of people every year. The fatal super bugs (viruses) are on the rise as well. While we should all be more prepared for the unexpected, fear mongering isn't really the way to go..

yeah I understand, I just wanna be well prepared, and be ready to warn everyone since EVERYONE I KNOW is ASLEEP! They simply think life will go on as usual and have no real sense about them. It's crazy to me to see people deluded from NATURAL instincts!

Ummm, helloooo? Am I invisible again? Hum. I came on to discuss the events happening with flooding and to hopefully engage in the topic of it all causing us sleepless nights. I did reply to the survival posts, but yes it is in a way related.

I agree with this 100%! We can store as much as we like but we never know if all that will perish in a moment and we being left to manage without it. Mental and spiritual preparation for what is coming is of utmost importance. Positive attitude and ... hope!

Protecting the sinks is a big deal in some areas.

But who protects the people from the sinks?

I lost two homes because of flooding in Louisiana due to hurricanes. I moved to Memphis to get away from all that. And here I am being warned about imminent flooding once again. The tornados are bad enough. Worry about the big one is bad enough. But having to deal with flooding two years in a row is too much.

A few observations from the past week

Read on here today folks talking about animal behavior. My Akita has been pretty much par for the course...nothing out of the ordinary. She seemed worried yesterday but she is probably picking up on my wifes anxiety since she has finals this week.

Traveled back home last week to help some family clean up from the flood. The rivers and creeks back home are not damned so when it comes down its like a tsunami. We didn't have any major damage just lots of debris to clean up.

Saw plenty of deer and turkey on the farm...a bear tore down my corn feeder
I saw tons of snakes and turtles around the creeks. Lots of young squirrels were out and about...next fall I'll be having squirrel dumplings and squirrel gravy

Went Turkey hunting and got a gobbler and even found some morel mushrooms while hunting. Picked some polk sallett as well. So I've been eating good for the past few days. Found a ridge this is just covered with wild ginseng.

Talked to my Grandpa for bit. He said he hasn't noticed as many bugs this spring so far but he said he has seen lots of snakes so far. He didn't think it was out of the ordinary and he hopes the bugs stay away. He saw a katydid a couple of weeks ago and claims that is the sign that winter is officially over. I told him I thought winter was over long ago lol. He said the coyote population is out of control and wants me to come thin some out. He said they are so loud they keep him up at night.

Heres a video of a brief tornado touchdown I took near Williams Jct in Perry County AR on April 26th. Usually from this location one can see Lake Maumell and Perryville. However this storms rainy downdraft has obscured the view. I'm a spotter and not a chaser so I don't take a lot of video and my camera is crappy. I'm out there to warn people not take pics!

I love our sinks. This area also harbors caves and underground waterways. Archeologists have found all kinds of treasures in the caves.

We have caves back where I'm from. If you stand at the entrance you can feel super cool air blowing out. I'm talking like an air conditioner. Before electricity folks used it as giant fridge. When the rail road was still operating something like a canning factory used it for food storage and such.

I myself walked as far back as I could. At the back of the cave is a small opening. They say if you crawl on through it opens back up into huge rooms. I could have made the squeeze but the guy with me just couldn't make himself crawl through such a small opening.

The cave sits on the bank of creek. Nearby but on the other side of the creek there is a fresh water spring that has been damned by probably some of the first settlers. Its a crude structure and doesn't totally impede the water flow. It creates a nice pool of clean spring water to drink and swim in. On the upper side is a 5-6 feet wide sinkhole that the water pours into constantly. This actually keeps the water from backing up and flooding nearby homes.

They have started to warn residents about snakes in the flood water, and around homes, everywhere

Oh my, one of my phobias too Buttercookie. I have had some bad expereinces with snakes -
was surrounded by Copperheads when I was 9 months pregnant with my daughter. Since
that day I freak out from a garden snake. Can you move to higher ground - at least put some
guards around your doors. My heart goes out to you, believe me.

I'm guessing I may not see snakes around my home (fingers crossed)

So far, Police Officers ,Health Dept. officials, and Shelby County EMA have began going door to door warning residents with evacuations/ advisements to leave.

CNN is really giving this issue MAJOR airtime, I see.

Chad Myers gave extensive coverage and told citizens that the flood waters are no joke and that people should be leaving before they notice water in their yard, because by then, it will be too late to leave.

Hello again, fellow ATSer's.....been absent for a few weeks and just now got caught up with all the threads here. Just want to say that I appreciate all the info you continue to bring here to keep us informed and my heartfelt prayers go out to ALL being affected by the newest weather anomalies and the gubmints role in all this mess! Been through the beautiful state of AR and TN dozens of times. Yes, IMO you DO have targets on your backs, as my state has for over a decade now. Just last summer OKC experienced a "100 year flood".....the effects of that one hit one of my properties which cost me a small fortune this year in having to replace a furnace blower motor. Will "we" continue to be in the crosshairs of TPTB? Me thinks so......Godspeed.
