The media failing? Who controls them and sends out the info? Noone should take for granted what the AP or any government agency puts out. They count on gullibility.

For those of you who want to know what to do, where to go, etc. during a quake, and as someone who's been through more than her fair share of 6+ earthquakes (in LA and the bay area), please review this site:

Susan... I don't think any one of us have any doubt about what you are feeling and seeing within your home. I'm really worried about you. Have you gone outside and looked around at the land around your house, block, neighborhood? Anything looking different, like new cracks or holes?

You folks have been shaken up so much, I'm wondering if the land immediately around you might be "adjusting", for lack of a better word.

Please take care!

I re-read that post line and I think she might have 'replied to' the wrong person.

And 'read' is one of those quirky English words. It was the same spelling, but two different meanings and two different pronunciations.

The past tense is read, which is pronounced red.
The future tense is to read, which is pronounced reed.

So I think she was saying that she should have 'red' the post better.

Atleast that's how I understand it.

Okay, perfect example right now on GEE:

This precluded a small quake that happened right after...and it is doing it right now a second time.

I don't have a clue what it was, I didn't read the first question asked correctly above the graph was just scanning thru and anxious to see if it showed it. That's close to what it looked like but not exactly what was on my GEE Screen if that makes sense to you.

When I said things were popping in my kitchen, there was a small quake and it shook a bag of dog food over and the popping I heard was the bag sliding down the wall. So yes it was felt enough to shake over a 35 lb puppy bag even though it was small.

The .PDFs on this page are very detailed and contain a wealth of information.

Details on bridges, power plants, dams(these are as much a danger in a BIG quake as anything), roads, police and fire capabilities and lots of technical data as well.

A lot to go through but it may yield answers to questions you havent thought to ask.

I was just talking with my sister who is near Rover and Wing Arkansas in the Ouachita Mountain Valley. She is hearing periodically in the evenings thunder type sound with clear skies and her dogs are barking alot when the noise happens. She is not feeling any shaking this go round but has in the past. She has been told that in the the last 20 to 30 years that a creek on her property changed course during an earthquake.

Here is one from Fox, Ak., not sure how far away it is.

www.wunderground.com...

I found it from the Greenbriar zip code on underground weather here;

www.wunderground.com...

If you search their website you can find lots of folks that have their own weather stations, and sometimes, webcams. Rather handy.

I hadn't ever heard of Fox and had to look it up -- it's about 40 miles north of Greenbrier.
