As a practicing [and rather proud I might add] Satanist I find this fascinating. Mind sharing which demon(s) you may have been trying to invoke?

I've done a Satanic ritual with my friend before, summoning the trickster demon 'Loki'. At first we thought nothing was happening and continued on our day as if everything was fine. After around an hour we started to feel really peculiar. We had recently got back in to his house and were both in his room. My friend was thrown off of his computer chair and hit the floor, not moving but managing to still talk. As I got up, books started to 'fall' off of the shelf at head height. At this point my friend was distraught as he couldn't move.
After a few seconds sanity had returned, but my friend said that he could hear laughter. I, on the other hand, couldn't hear anything.
I don't think I'll be composing any Satanic rituals any more, and I suggest you do the same!

This has always baffled me, People say that jews dont believe in satan or the devil. But then I hear that King Solomon could have possibly been a Satanist and that he use to Conjure up demons. Well how does that happen?

Solomon turned away from God.

Most people who would classify themselves as Satanists or Luciferians would not summon demons or believe in demons likely as it's very much a carnal, non-paranormal belief system that is more akin to a lifestyle. There are theistic Satanists as they are called though, but the Church of Satan, Anton LaVey stuff, etc. is mainly non-theistic IIRC.

Ceremonial magic deals more with evocation (as it is called when summoning an external entity to you) especially of Goetic (demonic) entities like those found in the Ars Goetia and the Lemegeton (Lesser Key of Solomon) grimoires, think 72 demons.

Angels, at least in theory, can be summoned as well. Enochian magic, which has a reputation for dangerousness and power, is all about summoning angels according to works transcribed by John Dee hundreds of years ago.

Elementals too can be summoned. The elemental kings are early targets for those working their way up to goetic entities, like the Kings Paralda, Gob, Djinn, and Nichsa. Chaos magic is also concerned with entities known as egregores, thoughtforms, etc. and summoning of them. Is it all psychological when even Santa Klaus can be summoned? Who knows.

Invocation is all about taking that external spirit inside you or at least their qualities. I would invoke Mars for destructive self-confidence for example or Aphrodite for love or femininity.

The ideas about Satan and the devil that Christian dogma has run with originated with Judaism in the first place. The Jews just have a different perception of these things. They don't believe in the same way that Christians do. Many of the modern ideas about demons and the devil and hell and such came from authors like John Milton and Dante Alighieri and figureheads within the Christian church, i.e. people with no actual spiritual authority by dogmatic Christianity's own definition. A cursory study of this will shed much light upon the subject.

As someone who has no belief in angels, demons the spiritual or any other such entities, I am a scientist. I have read your posts with great interest on this thread. You are the first person who has placed these words in concepts I can understand and appreciate. I have always believed that if someone believes firmly they have invoked demons then those demons are to that person real, and as reality is subjective then.... I am a firm believer in the power of the human mind and that reality is subjective, there is no truth except the truth you create for yourself, Shcroedingers cat you may say. As such the way you approach spirituality and the occult is actually in many ways in line with modern theoretical physics and a real breath of fresh air to me to hear someone speaking of spiritual and occult in terms I can relate to

Peace and love brother.

Yet another "I summoned a demon and it scared me" thread.

Reminds me of when mom told me not to touch the stove when it was hot.

Maybe these rituals don't actually summon demons, but instead cause a person to develop a psychosis??

Why open up a pandora's box of darkness? I have seen the effects Satanism and Black Magic has on a person. Usually ends up in possession whether the possessed person realizes it or not. I feel like I have lost my own mother to the powers of darkness. Your life begins a rapid downward spiral. Stay away! Try communicating with God who brings true wisdom, peace and happiness and salvation. Beneficial food for the soul.

In kindness,

First of all, TheAmnesiac, I wish I could just star every post you make. Seriously, I have a lot of respect for you because you seem to have a great deal of wisdom to share that is not rooted in one dogmatic tradition or another. I'm not trying to suck up, but you always seem to bring a fresh perspective accompanied with solid information and I appreciate that.

For the OP, I'm not going to lecture you on why you shouldn't dabble in the occult since I've been doing the same for a couple years now. But why start out with malevolent entities? I have never and probably will never call on any malevolent spirit (on purpose at least). I think you should get a firm grasp on what exactly it is that you're dealing with before jumping to something who's main purpose is to cause harm/fear. I'm not going to tell you don't ever do it because everyone has their own path but please for your own safety learn how to deal with these things before you try to bring them into your life. I had a pretty nasty encounter with a negative entity shortly after beginning occult/magick practice and I consider myself lucky it didn't turn out much worse than it did because of my inexperience. My advice is learn some form of shielding and energy manipulation in general before you go summoning anything good or bad. I feel that studying these things can give you more opportunity for self defense in these situations than following any "ritual".

So... let me get this straight...

You summoned a demon, and in your OP swore to god.

Nothing like spiritual insurance, eh?

Are you now spreading the gospel?

And then you state this was done for reasons that won't be understood.

Now really... is that fair? What is there to understand about this that transcends common sense in any realm?

It doesn't seem like you understand why you've done this either, or very much about what it is, or how you've done it.

("Demons" are bad, mmmkaaay?)

Some advice:

Do not mess around with things you don't know about, or what to expect.

This could have turned out alot worse.

Define a lot worse. Just curious....
