Argentina, US in diplomatic spat

news.smh.com.au

In a statement late Sunday, President Cristina Kirchner's government said it would lodge a protest with Washington and ask it to cooperate in a probe into the air force's attempt "to violate Argentine laws by bringing in hidden material in an official shipment."

Argentina has said it seized "sensitive material" that had not been declared in a manifest submitted by the US embassy.

"Among the material seized, which the State Department makes no reference to, are from weapons to different drugs, including various doses of morphine," the foreign ministry said in Sunday's statement.

Heh-heh...Uh-oh...Looks like somebody's been caught with their hand in the cookie jar, and has some 'splainin' to do!

So a C-17 tries to sneak in undeclared weapons and drugs in what were supposedly "routine equipment" to "train the Argentine Federal Police", and gets inspected and seized at customs.

Now, I wonder, just what part of the Police training involves MORPHINE? lol

Sounds to me like a routine CIA mission, smuggling drugs and weapons into a country.

It will be interesting to see if this one creates any more noise, or dies off quietly (most likely due to threats or a pay-off I would imagine).

So "Air America" is still flying...

I hope this isn't pushed under the rug..
I highly doubt it's a one off incident..
No wonder the US have so many overseas bases..

weapons and morphine sounds more like aid in a potential disaster, attack, or uprising.

Oh for God's sake.

Pull the aircraft, pull all US personnel from the nation, halt and pull all the foreign aid, and block further US travel to Argentina.

If they're that particular, then they will embrace the absence of the US or its money.

If that were true then the US would have had no issues with declaring it on the manifest..

maybe we know something they don't. with the whole egypt thing and the massive hillary meeting, maybe there is intel on these things that argentina is best not privied to? "various doses of morphine" strikes more of medical note then a malicious "drug" note.

Well if you believe the WH then their multi $Billion intel agencies knew little of the Egyptian crisis..
So why would they know anything in Argentina.??

Though you are right, I'd check the planes on the way OUT..

After what USA did to argentina over about two decades , culminating with the 2001 MURDER AGAINST THE ARGENTINIAN PEOPLE...
Almost nothing amazez me...
I think all started in afganistan were some OIL COMPANIES ( ONE ARGENTINIAN AND ONE AMERICAN ) HAD A "LITTLE FIGHT" OVER A PIPELINE!
From that on it all went bad for ARGENTINA...
This is for those that still have "good thoughts" of US LEADERS...
And when I remember how all those americans just stood there in washington at freezing condtions waiting for their "BELOVED BLACK PRESIDENT THAT WILL BRING CHANGE IN AMERICA"...
They said it right ...
"YES WE CAN!!!"
god damm it , YES THEY CAN ...( do everything they whant on this planet)...

for those "a little bit ignorant" please do watch this movie (all 12 parts) , you'll be smarter ....

p.s. : ARGENTINA IN 2001 LOST A INCREDIBLY BIG WAR WITHOUT EVEN FIGHTING LITTERALLY...
THEIR COUNTRY WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED/DISSASEMBLED SYSTEMATICALLY BY US GREEDY PUPPETS ...
in a country that used to produce what they need in a proportion of 95% , THERE WERE ARGENTINIAN PEOPLE (CHILDRENS EVEN), DIEING OF HUNGER!
HOW OBAMA OR BUSH EXPLAIN THIS?

Kind of what I was thinking as well.. The morphine doses could be for medical command.

So it would be OK with you if other countries' military brought stuff into the US without declaring them; or is it just your military that should be able to do this? Anything the US does is sacrosanct is it??

I don't think so.

Heh-heh....Looks like my initial gut feeling and intuition on what this ACTUALLY was may be turning out to be true!

Sounds like a can of worms has been opened up, BIG TIME on this one folks!

Confiscated U.S. Military Cargo in Argentina Was For A South American Black Op; CIA Operatives Under Investigation

In light of this smuggling incident, authorities in Argentina have discovered a major black ops smuggling ring, involving several government officials, judges, and federal agents that receive and give the green light to such shipments, receiving orders directly from the U.S. Military SOUTHCOM (Southern Command). A lot of the equipment was labeled ‘Secret.’

The illegal cargo was apparently requested by former CIA and FBI agents, who are now working in the private sector in Argentina. The alleged purpose of the equipment was to train Argentine military forces for ‘hostage situations.’ These former (or apparently still active) CIA and FBI operatives are being investigated.

The military aircraft, apparently a U.S.A.F. C-17 Globemaster III, with registration AMC-77184 is still confiscated inside the Ezeiza Airport in Argentina.
