I thought while I was at it, i'd add my opinion about the whole "GAY" thing.

Yes it's a 'defect' in a way, but also a genetic phenom in another. It could easily be natures answer to overpopulation. The 'defect' because they cannot reproduce with same sex. It's nothing to "celebrate" and it's nothing to be tortured or bullied about. They are the answer to a question of balance. IMO.

Why celebrate it?

I like Heritage Month, that would be great!

I have a friend from Nigeria (No, not on email), and I was really surprised that it was so huge, more than 152 million people in 32 states and yet I know next to nothing about this huge country. Heritage Month would give people a chance to educate themselves about their own and others origin.

No way. Black history month seems to celebrate black history BEFORE America. I don't mean to sound mean but if were only black America history wouldn't there be more black only water fountains, cotton, and everyone saying boss. I think they want to forget their history in America and celebrate the history that came with them from Africa.

Wrong again. Black history celebrates all the heroes of black history who helped make huge strides in American history from Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglas, Little Rock nine to Thurgood Marshall, etc. etc. It celebrates those after America became a country. What you are referring to, in a bad way too, are proponents of extreme Afrocentrism. Afrocentrism and black history are two completely different things. Again, please read up on this stuff before talking ignorantly.

My point is that history should be perverted by limiting to race. History is very important. I don't really think anyone who agrees with you understand that black history, Native American history, etc. etc. have all been subverted under European and American history. They are sub-cultures that are mocked, avoided, and commercialized. They deserve their little spotlight. Goodness knows no one in America gives a sh-t anymore.

It was the white man who kicked the Indian (native American) out of his home.
It was the white man who took over India and the rest of the world.

It is the white man who has to answer for the crimes of his ancestors.

What we once used to be (the white man), we should be ashamed of, there is no room for pride.

IF women were never 'working' we would have at LEAST twice the available job positions for men.

IF women were never 'working' we would have children that knew right from wrong, were shown love and taken care of and taught real-morality.

IF women were never 'working' we would probably use less fuel, oil, FAST-FOOD, etc.

Think about it.

I am not for having women in the dungeon cooking meals... or anything like that.

I think we have bodies designed for tasks. Men are clearly designed for leighbor, women are clearly designed to nurture.

I think women work EVERY-DAY with children. Some, harder than many men.

So let me clarify before the spamming begins... I love women, I think they deserve much praise, but also... I believe in nature, and naturality.

I should point out that my OP was a reaction to a news cast on Canadian television. What is celebrated here may be different. We don't care about Martin Luther here, we actually got busy and physically saved people instead of running some political platform for one mans popularity

White history month is every day of the year! I think they celebrate black history particularily because its usually regarded as "historically insignificant" and never covered.

That, or we really need a white Jesse Jackson (AKA the emperor of black people)

How about thanksgiving month, turkey and hats with buckles for everyone?
I mean if you find a need to celebrate your origing for a whole month, then just do it, whatever it is.
I just think it would be kind of time consuming; Italian History Month, Jewish History Month, Norwegian History Month, Jugoslavian History Month.... You get my point. Even a day for each of the imigrant countries now staying in the US would propably make a dent in the productivity of the country.

BTW, I don't see the need for any colour history month.

I like the heritage month, for everyone. Human heritage month sounds good. We should be proud of our diversity.

Celebrate it!

I do agree that if there were a white history month, a white entertainment channel, white pride day, it would be viewed as bigotry.

I am not saying I want these things, but they would not go over well and you know it.

It's pointless, yeah, we (Africans) were slaves in this country, but the new-generation is getting past all of that now, racism is slowly dying and it would be faster if we wasn't so separated. All this "racial pride" going on around Black History Month isn't even about black history anymore.

My little sister was told to do a project for her school and dress up along with the project. I asked my sister who she was she doing her project on, she told me, "Beyonce." I said, "WTF?? I would give you a ZERO!" She told me that their teacher doesn't care who they do it they're project on, they just have to be known and black. I'm like BS, just kill Black History Month, it's a waste of "pride" anyway. The new generation is coming together better than ever, kill the unnecessary racial profiling.
