Thank you. I have been studying this topic for over 20 years. When Saddam invaded Kuwait in 1990, I saw then that it lined up exactly with Daniel 11:24 in regards to the king of Babylon: "When the richest provinces feel secure, he will invade them and will achieve what neither his fathers nor forefathers did. He will distribute plunder, loot and wealth among his followers."

This action also lined up with Isaiah 10:5-7 in regards to the Assyrian. "Woe to the Assyrian, the rod of my anger, in whose hand is the club of my wrath. I send him against a godless nation, I dispatch him against a people who anger me, to seize loot and snatch plunder, and to trample them down like mud in the streets. But this is not what he intends, this is not what he has in mind; his purpose is to destroy, to put an end to many nations..."

The antichrist of the end times is both King of Babylon and the Assyrian. Saddam was born exactly half way between Babylon and Nineveh, the capital of ancient Assyria. He is an Assyrian who has rebuilt Babylon and described himself as the new Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon. The fact that he has disappeared from view and is "seemingly" dead only adds to the validity of his role in the end times as described by the prophets of the Old Testament and by John the Apostle.

There are two things we know for sure about this. They are that both Daniel and Saddam are kaput.

The fact that you (and basically most everyone else) believes Saddam is dead, reinforces the theory that when he reappears, you and everyone else will be astonished and utterly amazed. That's exactly what Revelation and Habakkuk say.

"One of the heads of the beast seemed to have a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast." Revelation 13:3

"Look at the nations and watch and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe even if you were told. I am raising up the Babylonians, that ruthless and impetuous people who sweep across the whole earth to seize dwelling places not their own." Habakkuk 1:5-7

Three words - weight loss; well that's two but you get my drift.

Weight loss would account for the loss of that feature. Hiding out and being on the run he lost a lot of weight.

Having interrogated several people in my day no "double" would be good enough to withstand a CIA interrogation with any semblance of maintaining his fake identity.

I assure you ole Saddam got the works and all "enhanced" methods. He probably even got his DNA matched just for the hell of it.

The CIA knew it wasn't the real Saddam. This was their doing to create some propaganda, to quell the rebellion going on in Iraq at the time. I would guess the double was complicit with his captives and played the role of Saddam through the courtroom trial. At times, though, he would slip up and talk of Saddam in the third person, as "when he went into Kuwait." I would guess he was offered a new identity of some sort. The hanging was faked. That was so obvious. Only one cell phone video captured the hanging and turned away when it occurred so there was no continuity of motion.

This is a theory based on the Bible. The core of this theory follows a time line from Daniel 11:21 through Daniel 11:45. These 25 verses focus on the final tyrant, the antichrist, who emerges from the root of Antiochus, the line of ancient kings in Iraq.

Verses 21-29 easily track with the career of Saddam Hussein when he was in power. This should be no surprise. Saddam revived the cult of Babylon. Verse 30a describes his removal from power, inflicted by "ships of the western coastlands." Verse 30b describes his return to power (still future) and his invasion of Israel. The result is "the abomination that causes desolations" in verse 31, which is the benchmark sign that Jesus referred to in describing the time of His second coming. The abomination is the blasphemous event that begins the great tribulation, a Biblical term for World War III.

Verses 32 through 45 give further information about the king of Babylon. For instance, in verse 42, it says "He will extend his power over many countries. Egypt will not escape." Verse 43 says, "He will gain control of the treasures of gold and silver and all the riches of Egypt, with the Libyans and Nubians in submission." Clearly Egypt is singled out as a place where the king of Babylon will execute revenge.

How will Saddam gain control over the assets of Egypt? I would guess through a dark network of secret societies, fronted by the Muslim Brotherhood.

Yes, this is a theory, but it's based on the Bible, not on some zombie conspiracy.

You can apply that crap to any tyrant in power. I don't think that a dead Iraqi warlord is going to be the "final boss" here on Earth, especially now that he's dead. If we was the Antichrist, he wouldn't be dead and he would be screwing the world over right now.

Jesus talking in Matthew was speaking of the impending destruction of Jerusalem, and if you'll take the time to match the Roman actions with the warning, you'll see that those Jewish Christians who followed the advise of the Christ and beat feet when the Roman armies came, lived.

The beast that appeared dead and was risen again?

Secular history shows us that the Roman Empire, based out of Rome, who ruled a great empire was to all appearances - dead.

THEN, Catholicism rises on the foundations of the same pagan temple foundations of pagan Rome, to become Papal Rome, to once again, rule over a great empire.

Rome. Killed. Wounded. Plundered and dead. Only to rise again. A true beast.

Who was John talking to?

You can't just pick and choose selected texts and fit them where you want them. They must remain in context, in sequence, and those unfulfilled are just that - unfulfilled.

Many, especially in the Old Testament have already been fulfilled. Not all to be sure, but many.

Actually, FlyersFan, the sudden demonization of Saddam is silly... or at least, hypocritical.

He was absolutely a terrible, terrible man, and I rank him among the very few people in the world who got exactly what he deserved (I'm strongly anti-death penalty, but even I have exceptions). Hewas a monster, a butcher, and in every way reprehensible.

And he was America's close and bosom buddy in the Middle East for most of that. Remember the cry, "HE GASSED HIS OWN PEOPLE!" - yes, he absolutely did. He did so with American knowledge, using American chemical weapons, fired by American weapons, aided by American intelligence and sattelites. While this doesn't absolve him of guilt by any means, it does put the sudden outcry against him in an odd perspective.

When he's invading Iran and firing mustard gas into civilian populations both in Iraq and Iran, we praised him as a hero. He was "our man." He had our total backing. We even green-lighted his Kuwait invasion, only to decide better once the Saudis got nervous about it.

That he suddenly went from a new-era Saladin, an American-backed hero because of all the death he caused, to becoming a bestial caricature worthy of only destruction because of those same acts, is, indeed, the height of absurdity. Especially when you consider that the US efforts to topple the "Butcher of Baghdad" actually killed far, far more Iraqis than Saddam ever did!

So yes, he's a monster - a monster who got a well-deserved and overdue humiliation and death at the hands of those he harmed. But hte story of the US perspective of him, our efforts to bolster and damn him, is just completely full of silly nonsense, of the sort that needs to be laughed at so you don't cry.

Jesus didn't return in 70 A.D. He didn't come riding in the clouds for every eye to see Him. Jesus was referring to the time of His second coming, and he referenced Daniel 11, which speaks of the "abomination that causes desolation."

The king who carries out the abomination, if you take the time to study Daniel 11, comes from the lineage of Antiochus, who ruled from Iraq. The antichrist is not going to be from Europe or America. He's going to be from Iraq.

I would suggest that Saddam is already creating havoc with the world's economies. This is what is said of the Assyrian in Isaiah 10. This is his proud boast: "By the strength of my hand I have done this, and by my wisdom, because I have understanding. I removed the boundaries of nations, I plundered their treasures; like a mighty one I subdued their kings. As one reaches into a nest, so have I reached for the wealth of the nations; as men gather abandoned eggs, so I gathered all the countries; not one flapped a wing, or opened its mouth to chirp."

The antichrist will emerge at the top of the pyramid of the New World Order. He will have come from the most humblest of peasant beginnings, which is why the book of Daniel calls him "the little horn." But in the end, when the boundaries of nations are removed, and there is one world government, he will be at the top, for he will have plundered the wealth of the nations through his criminal activities. He is the "lawless one". The world's greatest outlaw becomes the world's greatest dictator.

I always figured that we accidentally executed Walter Matthau.

Saddam had a lot of "body doubles." Wouldn't you, if you had the means and were on the US' hit list? Look up more pictures. Some he has a cleft chin, some he doesn't, sometimes his head is short, other times it's long, narrow, broad, big ears, little ears, different moustaches all through the whole exercise...

Did we get the real guy? I dunno. What I do know is that most guys can't go from smooth-shaven, to full-on Grizzly Adams in a month.

Star and Flag

Good one OP I have always wondered about the reports that, during the invasion of 2003. A cease fire was ordered on both sides. I think it was five mercedes that were seen, pull out on the tarmac, of Bagdad airport.
They pulled up to a U.S. Airforce C-5 or C-10 W/E. There were reports from alot of our soldiers saying they
saw Saddam get on the plane and gone. I remeber that well and low and behold the purpose may yet come to me. Excellent thread.
