I think R. Duvall is a fine actor. IMO he was miscast in this role and I can think of many that could have made it much more believable. Overall the
script/story was weak but the wonderful production almost saved the film.
Old cars, rambling banjo music, and set dec, wardrobe, props, that you could almost smell, at least kept me awake and interested. Bill Murray was
believable.
I admire any producer/director that takes on a period piece. I've had small parts in a few westerns and the behind the scenes work by the crew is
something to be admired and respected if they can pull it off. They did a great job in "Get Low"
