Some kind of modern day Phoenix over Germany? If it's a contrail reflecting the sunset it isn't really symmetric enough for a single plane. Could be a formation of several craft with a video edit/termination preventing their identification. Otherwise we do indeed have a rare video capture of something more unlikely and exotic such as a satellite or meteor burning up.

The first thing I thought of, it looked like it was falling space debris. It reminded me of a weird chem trail I saw before leaving for work the other day. I really don't get into the chem trail conspiracies, but this thing really got my attention. The arc was very distinct as if it was left by a missile. I took pictures of it, but like I said, I can't buy into the chem-trail thing. So I just put it out of my mind.

I just do NOT see this as a contrail.

These are the photos I took to accompany the video I made this evening, of a burning object falling out of the sky south of Berlin Germany on the 11 February 2011 at about 17:50pm.

Explanation:

Please look at the accompanying photos that I took. Otherwise, I am sorry about the dreadful quality of the video - but I only had my little Canon Powershot to shoot this, and it had real problems focusing. I happened to look out of the window, (11 February 2011 about 17:50pm) and I saw an object falling out of the sky to the South of Berlin. It looked like an object of some sort was on fire and falling from high up in the sky. It took quite a while, and kinked off slightly to the right as it came closer to the ground. Unfortunately it disappeared into the clouds.

I also took some photos too which I will try and post as a film later on.

It seems strange the the trail seems to get thicker as it moves away..
A contrail is the opposite...

wow amazing video mate, looks like a comet tho, but that is by far a brilliant capture thanks for the share

It is the explanation found under the comment box in the YouTube video. I 'bolded' that paragraph so it would hopefully look like someone else's words. Sorry for the confusion.

yes I have it filmed until it fizzles out behind the clouds and buildings - there is nothing more to see - I can post it but it's not really worth it. I was waiting for a massive impact but nothing!

I have also asked for an exact location...waiting for a reply!

If Phage were still around he'd say it was a plane. I really don't think this one's a plane though.

Probably but I'm guessing Weed's alarm is ringing and he'll be along shortly..

But contrails spread over time..
This one appears thicker at point of origin which is a little odd for a contrail..

I don't know if you know this but I am the king of the chemtrail conspiracy however....you said you saw this before leaving for work? Assuming you left in the morning?.....the Sun does make plumes of smoke and clouds look a bit odd when its low on the horizon but...........that's not saying you did NOT see a chemtrail.
Cause I know they haven't been spraying down here for 2 weeks so they must be somewhere else!

I know you said 'contrail' in the beginning and I didn't want to say anything to you but I am just having a hard time even pretending there's a plane in there somewhere.

According to the explanation from the supposed videographer, he said he lost it as it went behind the clouds before it came closer to the ground.
Contrails don't come closer to the ground because we all know, it takes a certain altitude to even produce a water vapor trail.

i saw something similar a few years ago driving home. It was like molten metal falling from the sky and it left a deffinate trail behind it too. It looked like it went into the sea although it was hard to tell from were i was. The ony difference was this thing was in two tone colour. the trail stayed in the sky for the rest of my journey home kinda lingering and slowly dispersing. me friend saw it too. made no noise that i could hear and it kind of moved gracefuly even though it was falling. I live in a very remote place sometimes fighter planes test here i thought maybe it was something to do with them.

Well to the naked eye they do as they cross the horizon..
But at normal cruise altitude that's around 150 miles away..
That's why I asked why the guy stopped filming..
If the object reached the horizon quick then it couldn't be a plane....
