Call me a big-headed sob, but I'm pleased with these threads and enjoyed writing them. They've been almost done to death by now, but make good reading. The Colares '77 thread is currently the best collection of evidence and information about Colares on the internet. Members have added a whole stack of stuff...

Stalking the UFOs.

Ufology and Hoaxes.

Great Idea for a thread speculativeoptimist! It's an important reminder of why we are all here, and what every member with an interest in the topic should be aspiring to.

IMHO, it's the early cases (pre video/internet era's) that are the most intriguing.

Muchas Gracias Amigo!
Thanks to Kandinsky for adding my humble thread too. I'm honoured you included me mate!

I'd also like to add this thread from my good friend, WitnessFromAfar. This is an astounding thread on the Battle of Los Angeles. WFA's research in this thread is second to none! Check it out!

Thanks for linking that one mate - there's another one on the way about Saskatchewan.

Has anyone mentioned Easynow's thread about the Portage County incident - it's an absolute corker.

Many thanks for setting this up! I knew of some of those excellent threads but it's great to have links to more. Also, I'd like to express my thanks to other members who've added more to the list -- and of course, special thanks to their authors!

Starred, flagged -- and bookmarked.

Best regards,

Mike

Thanks for posting those links, Chadwickus. The Bourkes Flat case is one I'd never heard of. I don't recall anything in the media about it at the time. It could be that it didn't get any coverage where I lived in Croweater country.

It was certainly an era for odd UFO sightings and the like, though. I used to live near Gawler on the edge of the Barossa valley back then and we had a few sightings in the region in the late 1960s to the early 1970s. I only had one such "experience" myself (with my family) but won't go into details here. I do recall there was an issue of the local paper around 1970 with the banner headline "Flying Saucers over Gawler" and also several reports of "angel hair" in the area.

EDIT to add: I just did some digging (ain't the internet wunnerful?
) and I found a link to the Gawler Library that has a pamphlet about these UFO sightings from that time. Turns out the headline in the local paper on Dec 4, 1968 read "Flying Saucers in Gawler". It was quite a sensation in the local area, I can tell you!

Anyhow the pamphlet gives details to several sightings so rather than jabber on I'll just give the link to it:
Gawler Library: UFOs over Gawler?

...

Cool thread idea. Yet some of the least known Members have the most outstanding thoughts on the subject, including investigative experiences. So. I feel there really can't be UFO Vets.

I spend a lot of my time searching the web looking for reports from people. Of course, there are mechanical research wizards too. ATS has a couple of the best.

Sounds good, throw up some links so we can see

Thanks for commenting too.

For clarification, I'm not suggesting that only the vets know how to do a thread, more of encouragement to include some of our vet's threads in our investigations, for information and entertainment, some of the best stuff out there, imo.

No probs mate and glad you had an interesting weekend.

If I had to pick an authored thread that realy did give me pause for thought then it would have to be the one dealing with police UFO reports - I started it off thinking there would only be a few examples but the sheer number is pretty mindboggling.

PRUFOS -´Police Report UFO Sightings´Organisation
