I'm not quite sure what you're upset about. If you don't like a thread, well then don't read it. Just because you don't like someone's opinion, isn't a valid reason to go crying to the mods about it. 1) You mean like this thread here where all you contributed was " this thread is boring"
2) ATS does enforce removing disinfo - if something is prooven a hoax it is added to the hoax area. ATS does not get involved in the grey area because time and time again good as well as bad comes from the grey area so dismissing the grey would not really follow the ATS motto of denying ignorance.
3) ATS does not hold a politicized view, it allows it users to form the view and have an equal chance to be heard and convince other's they are right - the users decide who provides the argument that matches their view best, others flag for those that provide the best arguments etc. So ATS provides a system where the users choose what the cream is that should rise to the top - and it works, because time and time again imporatant issues go straight to the front page.
4) Fear mongering is subjective and based on a point of view - hence it fit's the grey area, proove beyond resonable doubt it is fear mongering and then it can be dealt with - but alot of topics leave room for doubt. If you don't like alternative view and news maybe try FOX or CNN

Yeah, I guess that's simpler to work with, especially from the point of view of the people who'd have to make such a system and then try adding it onto the forums. Was just thinking of a way that would make it easier on you too. Looks like Mr pHD is full of it anyway so I should't have wasted my time.

The guy's name is MITSwagger.

One of the first things he posts is an inflammatory thread full of grammatical errors. That thread starts with the sentence "I recently just signed up for ATS after I graduated from MIT with a pHD."

Your spelling, grammar and punctuation 'spell ' out only one thing - your claims of being a graduate of MIT are false.

My point? You have your agenda on here - others have their own agenda.

You have no right to censor them - as long as they follow the T&C - just as they don't have the right to censor you.

Meaning, if I followed YOUR rules - (see your number 2 point in your quote) - you'd already be banned.

I always find it ammusing that people who havent been around long enough to get an idea of how to even operate the functions of the toolbar, start waxing dictatorial about how this place should be run. I dont mind when well established members have a little dig at the status quo , its healthy. But to have folks rolling up, and immediately jumping up and down, and stamping thier feet about a community which they have no actual understanding of, is simply foolish.

No. I dont think he would. I think if he was REMOTELY likely to do such a thing, then the only thing the OP would have been qualified as was an insurance liability, and the only way the OP could possibly have escaped MIT with a mind that blunt and foolish, would be if they promised him a degree if he would only get the living hell out of everyones way, and stop touching the expensive and delicate equipment.

It really annoys me when people start a thread with the line “I have a phd, form a prestigious university”. It’s like you expect us to all bow down and listen to you like your the pope on Easter Sunday and we’re the faithful congregation. It’s as if you think because you have spent thousands on your education and years of your life getting a education you could have got for free and quicker at a decent public library we should all listen to you. Really you might as well just start the thread with the line “I am better than all of you, your all stupid, so listen to what I have to say and act accordingly”. There are a lot of very intelligent people on ATS who, if you stay here, will make you look very stupid and laugh all over your certificate.

Your probably lying about your academic qualifications anyway in attempt to get attention.

I can agree that there are some aspects of ATS that could be improved on, although I think your are still a little bit to green to start moaning about them. For instance I have never seen spamming on ATS quite allot of very idiotic posts but not spamming. I agree with your second point about stamping out on posts that are obviously incorrect, but we do have a hoax forum of that. Your remaining two posts I disagree with , ATS I have always seen to be A-political and sometimes fear mongering will inevitably form part of a thread due to the nature of the thread.
