do not leave me
we must forget
all we can forget
of all that has come before
forget the times
of misunderstanding
and the times lost
all to know what
forget the hours
which often kill
all for what
the heart of happiness......
don't forget your tissue..(no----not for that)
enjoy

I agree with you somewhat, but not entirely. I think the Johnny Cash VIDEO for 'Hurt", is sad.
The first time I ever saw that video, I saw it as being a sort of self-eulogy by Johnny. Almost as if he knew he wasn't going to be around very much
longer. I was just trying to search for this, but couldn't find it. I believe that this was the last video he made, but I could be wrong so please
correct me if I am.
Although, I don't see how you could make this statement, in your OP, without giving credit to the writer of those lyrics, Trent
Reznor.

ASHES dIVIDE - Forever Can Be
song written and composed by Billy Howerdel (Also of A Perfect Circle)
To me, this song is a very sad song, but it also seems to have a message of hope.
excerpts-
"It must've been very hard
To have lived and never learnt
To be content with who you are
We all want the same things don't we
To find the ones who'll open channels to our hearts
A path you never found upon your own".........
.................
"So you dug deep down inside yourself
You revealed an old man
So pained to be what makes you who you are
We all want you to see the you we see
The one that carries the worlds tragedies alone
The cross you choose to bear upon your own"
the lyrics and the time of my life it's attached to make this really powerful to me.
I've never actually used that word, "attached," in this manner, but I will from now on. I'm not talking about this song in particular, but I love
how music is able to do this. Some of my best, and some of my worst feelings, are attached to songs. In a way, music can take you back to a place
within your mind, that pictures or video cannot. Certain songs are capable of bringing out emotions from the past, within me, that would otherwise be
forgotten. For the most part, even those extremely sad emotions which are attached to certain songs, is something I cherish.
There are plenty of tasteful sad songs if you go chasing them.
I personally cannot stand anything that isn't an alternative to mainstream corporate whoredom.
