Male 62%, female 38%.

Ahh, guess my woman's intuition kicked in.

A few posts back I said 60-40, vindication feels so nice.

P.s. where did you find that, I don't remember specifying my gender at registration, although there's a lot I don't remember

I dont believe its true. I think its just a conspiracy perpetrated by the women.

I would think it might have to do with how men are quicker to seek out conflict. The same reason that men tend to get into more fist fights during the course of their lives. Men are naturally more confrontational than women, and because of this, they tend to have a more severe reaction to things. I don't think women aren't interested. I just think women are more likely to realize their isn't really much they can do about it, so why dwell on the negative things. I know from experience, as I'm sure a lot of you do, conspiracy research can quickly take over your life if you're not careful, making the world seem like a much less enjoyable place. Maybe women are just smarter. Smart enough to know when to avoid gut wrenching topics that can have a negative impact on their day to day life. That's pretty much how my fiance feels about it anyway.

I disagree with the author. I've been married for 26 years, believe me - they can come up with some wild stuff

Well, I'm honestly impressed that this thread has developed such "legs". But it still seems to me that many ( note, NOT ALL) of the females posting their replies are in some type of "defensive" mode and feel compelled to explain themselves to the men. Is this simply subservient female cultural conditioning ( I'm assuming mostly US natives here ) rearing its head?

Not at all... Some of us just don't feel like dropping a few chromosomes so we can effectively communicate with the apes who are congregating on this thread.

Time for me to bail. I can already feel my IQ slipping..... :gasp:

Because women are too busy making dinner, cleaning house, raising children, washing clothes and dishes. When men sit at PC watching conspiracy movies and discussing conspiracies at ATS.

Right, if it wasn't for processed and easy to make foods all children that didn't have a dad that lived with them would starve to death.

Cleaning house? LMAO! Dishwasher, vacuum, automatic robotic vacuum systems, washing machine and dryer.
Anyone who complains about those hard tasks...

Those arguments might of jived until the 1950's(You have to remember the main thing that jump-started feminism was nothing more than female boredom because of how easy men made their lives) but they are so out of whack it is saddening.

Heck studies that look at total paid and unpaid work firmly show women as slackers that need to do more.

*slaps own forehead*

damn, why didn't i think of that!

anyhow, i was off, and those who did say around 60-40 were pretty much right on.
i will admit there is more woman than i figured, although i don't remember ever saying i was a male while signing up.
does this ring a bell with anyone?
edit on 13-2-2011 by rubbertramp because: (no reason given)

No. and I surely didnt specify age, education, children or sex when signing up or I would not have signed up. I am curious how they came up with this particular information, maybe its some kind of trend generator or something. I don't think its fully accurate.

yea, i'm kinda' stumped on this one.
i knew from the get go my 100 to 1 was an exaggeration, but i was still thinking 80-20 or so.
still not convinced it's anywhere near 60-40.
but, i'll still admit i'm wrong till i can prove otherwise.

hey, just to ask, are there any female moderators?

I am not really a good thread starter, but if your curious to find out then keep a watch. We'll see what they have to say about it!

No idea...I mean I have a hard time telling who is male and who is female, sometimes you can't tell just by looking at a screen name and profile picture. Makes me think of them as something genderless which generally works until I have to use gender specific pronouns to refer to them...then they get angry if I get their gender wrong and I have to apologize.
Even if their profile does say the gender, I find that some people like to make bogus profiles often with the opposite gender label just to mess with people. Guess some people do so sound like a particular gender depending on how they type...but thats very unreliable. For those who can't tell...I'm properly addressed by the pronouns "she" and "her."

Why does it attach to a penis somehow?

I am quite handy with tools, actually I handle all the home repairs.

you're a freak, get back in the kitchen!
seriously though, i know of one female mechanic, she specializes in diesel trucks and heavy equipment.
it's kinda funny watching her and the men, she kicks ass and the men that work with her try extra hard to keep up.
i guess they's feel horrible if a woman kicked thier ass in the field.

Yeah, my mom is the only woman in her town's water/street department. She does all the water main breaks and stuff like that. The guys are used to it now, but it first it awkward for them
, oh well.

My family never coddled their daughters, we had to learn how to take care of ourselves, be it fixing random things that need fixing around the house, our cars, making dinner
, whatever it's all stuff you need to know to get through life.
