well, anything here surprise you?
i did notice one other thread about the aid to israel and egypt being a 1/3 of the total, but i thought this site broke it all down reasonably well.
these charts never re-post the way i hope they would.
here is the link to the site, everything is footnoted and easily checked.
one thing that always crosses my mind when reading this stuff is what they don't admit to.
if i said this is only about half of the total, would i be very far off in your opinion?

I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything here, but what is the point of this post? Are you an American that objects to all of the foreign aid we are giving (you aren't alone as I'm in that camp) or are you a resident of one of the countries receiving aid and thanking us (you're welcome...now take care of yourself)? Either way, interesting numbers.

Do you actually think that is a complete list of funds given to other countries?

Where is the money through the UN?

Where is the money through the Stimulus bill last year?

Where is the money where we have bases in other countries or military advisors in other countries? That is giving to other countries so they need not have a large defense. Not to mention the economic plus it gives by all the activity of the people.

Just a few more things to look at on your OP.

Boggles the mind doesn't it? The massive amounts of money we give to other countries, and spend destroying other countries. Kind of sick that we waste money on that when there are homeless and hungry people in the states....

couldn't agree more. i truly do believe that we should take care of our own first, but like most other political topics,
it's lobbyist influence that controls the most.

Good OP.

AIPAC runs the US Government.

and the media.

en.wikipedia.org...

John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt write that since 1976, Israel "has been the largest annual recipient of direct economic and military assistance" and "largest gross recipient of such assistance since World War Two," a sum amounting to more than $140 billion between 1948 and 2004. The annual "$3 billion in direct assistance given to Israel" comprises "roughly one-fifth of the foreign aid budget" of the United States, amounting to about $500 per capita per annum.[16] AIPAC's web site (2007) states that it "has grown into a 100,000-member national grassroots movement" and claims that it is America's "pro-Israel lobby."[17]

en.wikipedia.org...

In April 2006, Philip Weiss discussed some of the background to the creation of the paper in an article in The Nation.[32]
Mearsheimer and Walt argue that "No lobby has managed to divert U.S. foreign policy as far from what the American national interest would otherwise suggest, while simultaneously convincing Americans that U.S. and Israeli interests are essentially identical".[26] They argue that "in its basic operations, it is no different from interest groups like the Farm Lobby, steel and textile workers, and other ethnic lobbies. What sets the Israel Lobby apart is its extraordinary effectiveness." According to Mearsheimer and Walt, the "loose coalition" that makes up the Lobby has "significant leverage over the Executive branch", as well as the ability to make sure that the "Lobby's perspective on Israel is widely reflected in the mainstream media." They claim that AIPAC in particular has a "stranglehold on the U.S. Congress", due to its "ability to reward legislators and congressional candidates who support its agenda, and to punish those who challenge it."

Ehhhhh, mnemeth, it is run by the trusts and foundations of wealth earned 100 years ago.

Saying that just one source of Uber wealth is the controlling interest is misnomer.
