There is probably bars and bars of gold and bullion underneath your basement.

I wouldn't go in there, though. Money changes people.

A dirty lens isn't just the outside of the lens. It can be inside from a dust spec on the cmos censor to internal condensation on the optics. Most all new point and shoot cameras are sealed units and only a professional camera tech would be able to do an internal cleaning.

Doesn't look anything unusual to me and I have taken and edited thousands of photos.

The object highlighted by me in red/brown appears to be a ghost behind the cross headstone. This stood out to me right away.

It's a NIKON D50 SLR CAMERA so whilst taking and editing thousands of pictures maybe you can read what I've said before making assumptions?!

there are two life size individuals taking up almost the whole front of the image, as if they were posing for the photograph. i can make out their blurry outlines quite clearly. the figure on the left, standing between the red shed and adjacent pillar, seems to have a skeletal transparent body form with rounded shoulders and is looking directly at the camera. i see his head shape clearly as co-inciding with the bush/tree to the right of the shed, but much closer to the camera, with a dark black left eye, nose and left half of mouth very visible. he looks quite sinister. while the figure on the right seems to be wearing an old fashioned long wrinkled garment, like a man in robes or a body cloak maybe. i can't clearly make out his face but his head is cloaked also and seems to be bowed (with his body half-turned to his left), as if reading from a book held in both his hands, and his right elbow is protruding towards the other individual.

Whaaaat? I don't see this at all! Do you mind posting an outline of it or something? I'm staring at this photo and don't see anything.

I thought that was a pillar? Or maybe a tree.
I don't know the surroundings.

Upload the 3,008 × 2,000 pixel image then.

Normally I can see images in photos such as these, and I always click on the photo first before reading any other details or posts just to make sure that I'm seeing what others think they're seeing. Sometimes what I see differs from what others see, sometimes not and sometimes I need a bit of prompting from others who will circle what they believe to be the anomoly before I can see it.

However, on this occasion, I cannot see anything, from studying the photo myself and from studying the areas that others have highlighted.

Your house seems to have an interesting history though, and as a believer in the paranormal, I'm sure there probably is paranormal activity in and around it. And it would be interesting if you would do further investigation and see what you come up with.

OP, being a paranormal investigator myself and seeing that your a new member allow me to give you a few words of advice here on ATS. It takes a tough shell to put up with alot of the criticism here on the boards, and it takes a while to get used to it. Try to be patient

I think its important, since you see something significant in the picture, and since its your backyard- that you take additional pictures to show that its not the background. It would also help for you to upload a large resolution of the photo, about twice the size of your current image because we can't zoom in well enough to see the faces that you say are in your photo.

Im not doubting what you are seeing, I have been to England many times and know its history and its spirits well. I am convinced however, that you should be able to capture quite more of them. They are most likely residual hauntings because their energy is engrained in the granite and stonework foundations of your property. Energy can replay itselve over and over again in highly contained energy vortex's such as your property. You may happen to experience and see them as full apparitions someday, that will be a treat!

I think this might be more relevant to this thread.

The human brain is hardwired to recognize faces and derive order from chaos.
Hopefully by now you’ve taken a few minutes to gaze at clouds.
When you did, your brain couldn’t just let those clouds be lumpy, amorphous gobs of water vapor.
Without any effort, your brain immediately tried to decode the randomness into something recognizable.
More often than not, what you will see is a face.
Carl Sagan was one of the first scientists to suggest the reason for seeing faces where they aren’t is a survival mechanism.
In an environment like a jungle or a forest, you need only a few details of the face to fill in the rest and see another human being.

Unfortunately all I see is why I miss my Homeland so much.

Your house sounds fascinating. Was it once the Vicarage? Was it once the "Lord of the Manor's" house? A lot of churches had tunnels to those kind of places so that the "Lord" or Vicar did not have to walk to church with the "Peasants" in the rain.

Instead of taking a sledgehammer to your cellar, try getting hold of an Endoscope from a Plumber or some such. Drilling an exploratory hole would be less destructive and may not give your Missus the willies as much. After all there is no way of knowing how thick your blocked up wall is.

Please keep us informed if you do any residential archaeology, as even if you don't find anything Paranormal it's still fascinating.

Just looks like the trunk of a blossom tree.

Google Cherry blossom, has the same foliage and trunk.
