I think the only reason that this statement that came out for his quote being "dictator" was just another political mudslinging from the left. At least that's what I think, as long this is election year, we are going to hear interesting speculations, facts, anything from both sides. The games have already begin who will win?

Regardless of what he means by that statement; it's unhealthy that we are sitting here, right now trying to work out what he meant in the first place.

The man is a walking rubix cube who is dangerously over-ambitious.

EDIT: I have started to feel that any leader (president or prime minister) who has split the country's opinion in the way Bush has, should be taken out of power just for the sake of keeping the country "unified" and not at each others necks.
(Say 40% of the population (alot) strongly dissagreed with a decision or policy involving something as important as forigen policy)

You guys have gotten yourselves into a bad situation, i turned on fox news today and watched 4 people yelling really loudly at each other at the same time for 5 minutes, it was a little sad

You know, I know a lot of Christians that just love Bush-I am a devoted Christian myself, but I keep telling them that they need to be careful not to put their trust in men. Sure, I think we should pray for any leader(s), but you should never put your trust in someone who is human. I don't care if you are Christian or not, if you are human you will sin and in some cases down right evil. I have heard some of the things that Bush has said and some things are creepy and give me chills. I think what Christians need to be praying for is for the deception to be uncovered, lifted away, not play into it. To me it is obvious that Bush has issues (power/control).

Thank You worldwatcher.

These links put the whole run together PSEUDO story previously posted on Rense.com.

The story was put together from these two, separate, interviews.

People: Do not take any story at face value. Do your own research.

THINK, REASON, and MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND.

The way the story is put together on Rense, it makes Bush sound like a dictator. If you know that the whole thing was cobbed from two sources and 'sewn' together to make something totally false.

This just absolutely blew my mind when I read it. Are we sure this man is president or should we call him dictator... (Crucial words are capitolized for emphasis, GW didn't yell em when he was saying this stuff)

I love it when someone can take snipets from several different conversations and fuse them together into something thas taken completely out of context. that is absoultely brilliant. you should go work for the Kerry campaign. this thread could be the whole commercial....

Actually I would like to work for a political campaign, just not Kerry or Bush's :-) Maybe my own...

Can anyone deny that being a dictator would be easier than being president of a democratic society? Look how easy it's been for Saddam all this time. I agree that this comment wasn't an expression of personal aspiration, but rather a fact, and probably made in a joking manner which print doesn't convey. Apparently there's enough legitimate things to bash Bush about. When this kind of silly stuff gets put in the mix, it invalidates the real issues.

i can agree with that, although i still think its pretty dumb for someone with lofty political aspirations to make comments like that in a non-private setting. what gets me is the god stuff.

personally i'm all for benevolent dictatorships. lee kuan yew all the way!

Man, I don't know how I could have missed this thread. I haven't heard these quotes before either... Very, very disturbing.

Surely he isn't stupid enough to think that the public would respond well to something like this?

The fact that these are the thoughts comming out of the mouth of this man shows he has NO respect for democracy. His whole governing method is lay out his plans, silence all disenting opinions, listen to all the *ss lickers telling him he's a great leader (that's when God's not talking to him). And do whatever the F*ck he wants. If that aint dictatorial I don't know what is.

Intelligence: The gathering of information, assessment of current circumstances, identification of any problems, prioratizing them, gathering various possible plans of action, selecting the best and following through, monitoring events as they are occuring on ground, getting feedback to adjust your strategy as it makes sense.

I don't think GWB employs any of these methods.
God is his 'instant coffee' solution to everything.

He's such an idiot! A dictatorship would be a lot esier though...hello. But still the way he said it, i fell like beating the crap out of him, and sending him to Iraq.

I haven't taken the trouble to, but if I did, go through all the rest of these supposed sources, I'll bet anybody a dollar that I would find more examples of journalistic vandalism.

Go for it Clint. You can't just nitpick one quote not part of the original post and expect to discredit the entire thing. Is it really too hard to believe that politicians, including George Bush, are not actually your friend?

Well its not just GWB who has this problem, most other politicans are just as crazy, but since George is the president, the media covers his insanity more

bush sorta sounds like a muslum terrorist....envoking the 'word of god told me to do it' thing. and you know...nobody batted an eye about the quote. something is wrong in AMERICA...it is not bush but it the current trend of AMERICAN govt......a new imperial power for the 21st century

Exactly! How is what Bush says different from what any Muslim extremist says? Whether God or Allah tells you to do it, if it screws everything up it dosen't really matter who told ya!

Anyone here on ATS wanna try to defend Bush?

Well let's see,

It seems a little more than strange that a self proclaimed born again Christian would evoke the influence and power of God to justify his actions.
Think about it.

It is written "only thru the Son can you be in God" As a Christian he should be following the path of Christ thru the "eye of a needle"

His words and actions are more reflective of the Old Testament, rather than the new. He calls upon God to fulfill his sword and ambitions. I believe he suffers from a Messianic complex as opposed to Devinne guidance. This would regulate him to a mere charlatan, which I believe he is. A very good deceiver
I do not believe there is an ounce of true religion in the man or a basic respect of the wishes of God or Christ.
I am not a zealot, I do not even attend services, I do speak to God on a daily basis. He never speaks back
However it irritates me immensely when one claims he is doing God's will. That is "one step over the line sweet Jesus, one step over the line"

I should know,

Tutankhamen

Whats realy sad is that you all know that he is not saying what you are implying he is saying, but in order to put push down, you want to forget you intellegence and and try to convince people that he is some Extremist that wants to be a dictator.
