AOL Buys Huffington Post, Arianna To Head AOL Media

www.wired.com

AOL is buying the Huffington Post for $315 million, the companies announced late Sunday.

The deal puts Arianna Huffington in charge of AOL’s growing content network, and burnishes AOL’s credentials as a new media network.

Huffington is to be president and editor-in-chief of a newly formed division called The Huffington Post Media Group, and will oversee all Huffington Post and AOL content, including Engadget, TechCrunch, Moviefone, MapQuest, AutoBlog, Patch and others.

“We have an opportunity to accelerate everything we’re doing very dramatically,” Huffington told Wired.com

Well. This should make things interesting come 2012.

Now this nutbag will be given a slightly higher leverl of approval in the MSM-thus more of her (and CO.) B.S. will flood the air.

Now, she won't be a Blog... but AOL. Hmmmm. I wonder who AOL supports, I'm bettin' it's Obama.

AOL will now become the Liberal's wackos next/newest attempt to break into the normal side of things. Good thing we can all rest assured knowing..

They will ultimately screw this opportunity up also. Have fun with this outfitl.

Something tells me AOL will be the newest source used here by many.

Always good to know where the money comes from and what the background alliances are.

...They're always there. Hence the need for transparency along with accountability.

Who in the world is still using AOL??? Why would you use AOL? Could someone please explain?

Conservatives ought to be canceling AOL now in droves.

She creates revenue.... and nothing entertains investors like revenue...

The real question is... will anyone even notice the editorial policy changes that are about to happen?

When it comes to media companies and their affiliations... well... the rest is best left unsaid.

people are leaving in drones ,, read the comments on some pages

i visit to see the slant and how others think

the site seems to love having other like minded people approve there thoughts
many seem aware of corporate steering of content but,,,

most are most upset that they've lost fans in their accounts,,,,, like followers
it seems sick that what;s most important is the posters/members are not as popular now,,,, so others quickly fan them when they complain and say,,,,, well you lost 10 fans here i'm a new one

it's weird and cult like

more independent media bought up into a huge conglomerate

i hope arianna learns a lesson,,, and gets bit for selling out

even b4 this many seemed mad at heavy moderation and censorship

ps.......arianna met with the aol ceo,,,, over a multicourse meal at her la mansion
boy she's in the trenches of her poor liberal base she fights for,,,,,, i think it's funny,,, these mouthpieces for the left fighting for poor people from the ivory mansion,,,,,, she got rich exploiting there plight,,, and they bow at her feet

Yipee! Bud .. it wasn't a solid news source. It was just far left shilling.
Totally biased. Totally unbelievable. If you quoted Huffington Post here
as a source, you'd need at least a few other sources to back it up with.
