Well first of all I'm new to ATS although I've been reading the site for over 6 months now.
At first it was a little strange getting used to the format of it but it's a very good site.
Secondly, what I'm about to say is the God's honest truth. I don't lie and I'm far from crazy, I have never hallucinated, ever had a mental illness
(no diss to people that have) or anything else along those lines.
I became a father for the first time 18months ago to my Son Leon and I swear on his life that what I'm about to say is the truth of my own
experience.
It was december 2003 and back then lived in London, I'm from West Yorkshire but moved to London to experience new things on top of the fact that my
Dad was a pr**k but I don't want to go into that.
My family has a business in Holmfirth which is a countryside village on the yorkshire/lancashire border, not far from the moors of Saddleworth.
I had come back from London to come and see my Mum, basically I was broke and needed to borrow a few £££ off her. My Mum always looked after me and
she could afford to (not that I'm proud of that).
I got a National Express coach to the City of Wakefield then got a taxi from Wakefield to Holmfirth to the business where I thought my Mum was.
On the way over in the taxi (which is going over countryside roads) I saw in the sky 3 stars, that were bigger than normal stars, and the fact that
they were moving at a great speed was the reason they stood out.
I pointed this out to the taxi driver who saw them also, this carried on all the way to Holmfirth and when we both realised something was not right we
both went quiet and the driver drove faster.
It was no planes, or stars, they just don't move like that in the sky!
We got to Holmfirth and he left, I went to see my Mum and she was not there. Little did I know that she had gone on holiday and I never even knew.
I know I should of called before I set off but if I had of done and said I was coming up to borrow some money she would of told me to bollo*! lol.
A girl that I've known for a long time was working, told me they had gone away and I was screwed as I'd spent what money I had left on getting there
from London! I explained to her I had no money left and no where to stay and she was like 'not my problem'
The girl was a real kiss arse to my Dad, anyways I had an argument with her and stormed off.
Whilst I was there the lights were still in the sky and then they went away.
This part is the most trippy of the whole experience.
I stomed off and walked up a footpath off the road and up into the hills, I had no idea where I was going and I was young and full of silly anger.
I saw the most trippy thing I could ever imagine, in the distance I saw some sort of craft coming over the valley at a low altitude, it had lights on
it and was the shape of an oblong.
It came right towards me and went straight over the top of where I was stood at most 100ft above my head.
It was something that I've never seen in my life, it was also dead silent. Not a single noise could be heard from it.
At the rear were all I can describe as some sort of jet engine? ie fire coming out of the back of it.
As it came closer to me I was amazed, I was that amazed I actually started waving my arms at it lol.
It passed over the top of me at such a slow speed and went over the hills and valley until out of my sight.
The other thing that made this whole thing trippy was that the moon seemed huge and orange colour, and by saying huge I mean totally out of anything
normal like it was close enough to touch?! (I know that sounds weird and no I couldn't touch it but I'm just trying to explain).
I did not have a camera phone back then so could not record any images, even if I had I think I'd of forgotten to because I was so amazed with what
had happened.
I called my friend and asked him to pick me up and if I could stay with him for the night, he came and I went to his and told him what had
happened.
I went back to London a few days later.
When my Mum got back from holiday I explained to her what had happened, she then told me that a guy had been in the restaurant on his own and my Mum
got talking to him as he was asking questions about the area.,
He told her that there had been UFO sightings and he was investigating them.
I wasn't the only person that saw something around that time, this is a link to the local news
story.
Examiner
I had not been drinking that night, I don't take drugs (again no diss to those that do).
I think about it now and again and wish I could see the same again, it was a once in a lifetime thing.
There are no military bases around here, and why fly something like that so low.
It was out of this World, the whole thing was.
I'm sorry for the long post but I wanted to get everything straight first off.
I was always a sceptic of things like this until I saw it for myself.
I've learnt over time that you have to be carefull of who I tell the story to as the first natural reaction of most people is *smirk* but I understand
why.
