I live in an apartment in Chicago. When I went to throw out the trash this morning at 9 AM, a Chevrolet truck turned on as I headed back into the garage. I took a closer look and realized that no one was inside of the vehicle. Inside the vehicle, the clock, radio, headlights and exhaust all turned on by themselves. What do you think happened?

Some people have a button on their keychain that turns their car on. Everything else in the car (radio, etc) was left on and when the car starts, they start up, too.

Either that, or Nightrider.

IF it was a new Chevy, probably key chain remote start. Someone was probably watching out the window trying to spooke you.

If it was an older model then maybe you couldn't see the driver in the vehicle.

Also OP it is strange you tell us it's Chevrolet and don't tell us the model?

I vote remote starter also, but if a newer Chevy, OnStar is a variable.

Everyday at the exact same time, I have this small clock/radio that starts playing.
At the exact same time every day!

Weird, right?

Gotta be mind control experiments. Even if it wasn't a remote starter, it is possible an electrical problem could do it. I had a roommate have a buick that did this until the electrical was fixed. It was starting in the shop waiting to be fixed after an electrical fire.

Wow Chevrolet are really trying to corner the "too lazy to do anything" market

Remote start

and if the whole huge effort of closing your own tailgate is getting you down it will do that for you too

How long till they make one that dispenses ham burger meat directly into your mouth as you drive

I used to have a 93 Silverado that would start by itself every now and then. One time my buddy and I were walking up to the truck and before we even got in the engine turned over and started right up. I looked at him and I showed him i had the key in my hand. No remote start on that truck. And like I said, it would happen randomly, usually when I was about to get in or just opened the door. I dont know why it did, but maybe chevys have some sort of problem with that

What are they going to put in there next?
An arm that snatches one up by the scruff of the neck
and sits their fat butts in the drivers seat?

If it is an older model without all this remote controlled stuff, then maybe someone in an invisibility suit. If you have seen the movie 'The Entity' it could be another option, maybe the kids where just hiding under the dash? Just putting it out there.

Aside from the 'remote starter' expatiation, I did have a Tempo that shorted out and caught fire...could be that a similar short in the ignition could actually start a vehicle. Mine was a stick...so it just lurched itself up the road. The fire department couldn't understand why I was laughing.
