How can we know this is directly from NASA TV

I agree, especially when they put the b rated music in the video sometimes during the whole video.
But mostly, at the beginning and end. I want, raw unedited footage, without the dramatic music and who knows what else type of editing.

Simple lens flares, check this test I made. However I must say
there is also a chance this may be the solar panels moving in
the dark as Sambell mentioned, in any case no UFOs.

I have images of these lens flares during the missions as well
as the solar panels moving in the dark and they match. It's
clear this lady Sheila from Tucson has no experience in these
matters.

As the OP of this thread, I would just like to comment to the folks remarking about the title of this thread. I used the title that the Op of the video used out of respect. I was not trying to sensationalize anything.

I am just like you and keep hoping as well. I bring some of these videos because I keep learning new things about reflections etc. from the more knowledgeable members.I personally thought this was a very legit video to bring to the table to be looked over. What if I hadn't and it did turn out to really be something? Where would that leave ATS?

Im pretty sure we like to think of ourselves as on top of the game and we get there by studying what is presented to us. Face it, UFO's in themselves are a rather sticky subject as we just really dont know anything about them to begin with. We do know flares, we do know reflection, we can usually spot cgi, and we do have people that know what they saw. So it really is it's own crazy field of knowns and unknowns to be explored.

I am glad we have ATS just for that reason among many others. A collective mind to solve the puzzles, and how else will we if we don't bring the things to the table to be looked over?

Disappointing? Yes, but at least we know that we checked it out, and thats a good thing. No stone unturned!

if you look at the cylinder on the right hand side, there is a shadow that "curves in" on the tube. now, if you mentally draw a straight line from, th two known points at the top and the bottom of the cylinder, and then watvh the video, you'll see what i'm talking about. in the video it isn't much. but one of the lights does indeed "ease" over in front of it. you don't have to agree... you can think it's an alien craft if you want to.

I never said it was an alien craft, it never crossed my mind.

Anyway I'm confused, is that thing we see in front is dextre right? So the lights behind it might be on the actual ISS right? so we might just be seeing the ISS here.

Whatever it is, it is one piece...not many. I took a piece of paper and put it up to the screen and marked off the lights and they were EXACTLY the same distance apart which shows construction prescision, as there were no diviations in widths. Also, if you drag the slider back and forth you can actually see all of the lights moving up and down in tandem or as if in one piece. That is a huge......whatever it is.

Couldn't it just be some sort of floating tether as a safety line or something of that nature?

It could easily be lit with led's so they can see it no matter how dark it is.

Ok at first I thought it was all reflections from the window.. but watch it full screen @720p. the lights actually do go behind the arm, then suddenly the camera is shifted to look away from the lights.

strange :O

though unless i saw this myself on the live feed...there's no way of telling if somebody messed with the video just to upload it

Honestly I'm a huge believer and come to this website with any free time i have, but the lights over Cali do look like a solar flare to me..This ISS video is amazing but i don't think it to be the same thing. Although i am speculating and have no idea...Just reaching in the old brain to find some answers.

Is that a still image after the video, or was it hovering there over California??

I watch the ISS a LOT! When it goes into total darkness, you can't see it at all....then, as it moves into sunrise, it's usually quite a show....here's an example of a video I took....it is the brightness of the sun reflecting off the space station as it moves from the total darkness of space, to the sunrise. It will show how what you think you see in the dark, is not really what it seems.

It appears that one of the lights is visible in front of a part of the ISS. I believe it is just a visual effect.

Yeah I have to agree that it is a reflection..........

I don't think this is a reflection or CGI or an Alien UFO, I think its just one of the solar panels or one of the other parts of the ISS behind the 'robotic arm' bit, it just looks like the straight side edge of a solar panel to me lit up where the joints are and the bottom edge. The killer is when the "line of lights" tilts which is exactly what one of the solar panels would do.

Clearly a lens flare effect or reflection.

Have a look anywhere around 2:30 and you'll see one of the 'dots' covering part of the station. Yes, the part is darkened, but that is because it is an area covered by a shadow. A little bit of common sense allows you to draw the line of what the shadow is covering.

If there were no traces of this light overlapping the station this might be plausible.

(I'm sure I am the 20th person to say it, but I will anyway)
