You say "Aliens" - That is almost stereotyping them.

What type of Alien are we talking about? What race? What Solar system are they from? What is their ultimate agenda? Are the benevolent or malevolent?

Lots of questions to be answered before I say one way or another. I'd need a lot more details.

The chances are they're more than likely going to look like we do...

Short answer, I'd follow them.

What? Give up following which on the 1000's of variations of many religions? All of which claim to know the truth? If the Aliens came here, announced that they are the Annunaki of the Sumerian times and that they genetically created mankind, that kind of blows away the Devine hands on God of the World man made religions. Sure, I'd follow them, especially if the other option was to get fried.

If "they" arrived, we'd have a lot more tangible evidence for their existence than we do for the Christian God, which at this time remains nothing more than a human concept fueled by fear and blind faith, originating from stories our ancestors told and recorded, which from certain perspectives, may be interpreted as descriptions of "their" arrival anyway.

Its gonna blow energy on many scales when the approach to this lil universe occures and is detected first by Alien or ET and then by EA. Many worry about a NWO-NEW WORLD ORDER. IMAGINE A NEW UNIVERSAL ORDER since there is so much doubt in the creator of all. Time will show but when it is time the universe will be rolled back not worm holed thru. The entrance of the King of the universe. See if some came I would like to know again WHO INFLUENCED ALL THE GOOD BOOKS HERE ON EA OF MULTIPLE RELIGIONS. SURLY AN ADVANCED SPECIES SHOULD BE ABLE TO TELL UNLESS THEY WERE CREATED AFTER THE ANGELS.............. I got love for SOME of my ET brotheren but others I crave their sweet energy more evol the better the taste. So we shall see. I cannot wait for the universal Aliens to meet the exterior Ancients if you can even comprehend......

You do realise that the Christian God is also the same God for the Jews and Muslims don't you?
Different names, same Deity.
Then you have the Hindus and lots of other religions around the world

Just keeping you up to date as your view did seem a little ...narrow

I agree with you.. I would leave this ridicoulus planet. Too many religious people and very judgemental. Plus the goverment in the U.S. got ALOT of hidden secrets.. A bunch of screw overs... I'll bounce sooo quick...only if they offer a better civilized life.

Kind of depends on when they get here. If they could have shown up a hundred years ago to move us along in the right direction before we polluted the planet, invented atomic bombs, and all sorts of other unhealthy things then why didn't they?

If they wait to come here after the planet is in complete turmoil and there's nukes going off or whatnot, I would be inclined to be a bit suspicious as to why they showed up when there wouldn't seem like any alternative but to follow them as if they were our only hope for survival. If their out there, then what are they waiting for?

If it's actually satan and his fallen angles in disguise as our space brother saviors, then it doesn't matter if they fix things and cure your cancer and make the lame walk, they know your going to die sooner or later and following them can put your soul in peril.

On the other hand, what if they are non threatening beings? If we follow them I can't see us ever being on an equal basis with them and ever telling them what to do. So I guess we would have some new bosses and would be some sort of slave or servant to them. So no, I wouldn't risk following them. If there's nothing in it for them, then what's holding them up? Beware of strangers bearing gifts.

I think your question is far too fundamental in asking, when you mentioned God. I think what could happen is, many would find that specific religious beliefs are a set up for empowerment and they will seek answers elsewhere. This is already happening. So perhaps we will become more together and the deeper meanings and continued seeking of a higher self will continue.

This question revolves around a number of factors.First off, which race of aliens?I certainly wouldnt want to live amongst these grey aliens.I am not so fond of the medical procedures and abductions that they practice.I would highly consider living among the beautiful nordics, who practice peace and love.Secondly, what type of accomodations would be available?Definitely,I need a luxurious house or apartment.I will need to take my dogs too. Also,i will need a wide variety of fine cuisine,im open to otherwordly menus, but it has to be spicy.Next important factor would be scenery.I think sometimes we take for granted our magnificent landscapes. The trees, bodies of water, mountains and desert all provide tremendous serenity to our senses.Beautiful nature is a must.I would need to know what my role in the new world will be.Is it a world i could adjust to.They say simply moving from one house to another is one of the most stressful things you can endure.Moving to another planet could prove very difficult emotionally, unless you were comforted by some of the things above.

Abandon? I would need to believe first before I can abandon anything. And seeing as how I don't, then I have nothing to abandon.

Oddly I believe if there are aliens, God created them also. So no I would not accept any other as my deity, no matter what bells and whistles they offer to supply.

Alright, we'll just stick with "God" then. I tossed the "Christian" in there, simply for the fact that the OP is obviously coming from that perspective. Not a "narrow" view, just one commensurate with the context.

it is my belief that the real God would not
need a space craft (ship) to travel between
galaxies, therefore making these aliens
inferior to the real God.

As far as giving up my faith?
absolutely not, don't care
if ET landed on my lawn.

I'm sorry but why when there's a thread does religion HAVE to be brought into it?

Depending on your view then Aliens are like God, a creation of our minds that allows us to have a path to follow.

Neither have any proof beyond writings yet one of the two is used to clarify and decide if another exists. Why can people not just look at the question that was asked, it makes no mention of faith iirc, it simply asks if you would go with the aliens if they came.

At what point did it say you would lose this 'faith' if you went with them?

I don't believe in any faith or religions for very good reasons, I don't deny some get comfort from it and wish them well but I do wonder if they could have got the same comfort any other way.

Personally I think one day we will find that the 'god' or gods that people believe in were the early visitors to this planet. You simply cannot deny that that is a very big possibility.

If that is the correct contention, and alien visitors becaime primitves gods, then the elder races of the elder galaxies must have been their Gods.
The clock goes round for a reason, as well as reminding us everything repeats itself over and over in time.
The process of Godmaking is probably a universal constant, and any advanced race has the right to go down onto primitive planets and create this Godmyth to awaken the natives to that level of consciousness.
No doubt, if this being the case, it is a universal joke, and when races mature, they look back on the ones who made their worlds Gods, as the first jokesters who came to clue them onto the universal path to total awareness.
It is probably almost an artform among space faring races, as well......heheheheh

If the aliens come, then I will be the first human in history to be charged with "Grand Theft Spaceship", as I take off for a better planet.

Seriously, I'm not a religious person, but I wouldn't follow the directives of an alien anymore than I would follow religious texts. As long as I have faith and remain faithful to myself, then I need no direction form any outside entity or force.

Dont believe in a deity anyway so there would be nothing to abandon.

Assumption that they are more intelligent would be silly until we have a lot of experience of their abilities and experience with sufficiently large numbers of them. More advanced tech does not necessarily mean more intelligence. We have lots of cool stuff but are no more intelligent than medieval man.

As for following them? Why?

Trade with them, steal their good ideas and ignore their bad ones. Following implies worship and subservience, neither of which is healthy or necessary.

well I'm sorry if I brought up religion.
But regardless of whether religion was
brought up in the OP or not, religion
and/or faith does play a role in my
answer to the question so it has to be
addressed on some level at least for me.
