Best thread I have ever read on ATS . No theories , conjecture or supposition here , just the plain hard truth . Mankind as a whole kind of mirrors every individual . We are capable of murder , greed , want and destruction , but we are also capable of great love, caring , compassion and creativity .
I doubt I will ever see the day when harmony , love , understanding and peace, rule , but just to know we are capable of these wonderful things , fills me with such hope .

I hope this thread never ends .

It saddens me that we , as a human race , are seperated by our petty beliefs and squabbles , but I know for sure that if a threat came from off world that we would all unite in an instant to fight for the common good . How crazy we are

Purely a day dream here, but I sometimes think when we are an intergalactic species and say you voluntarily took an assignment with another species, how happy a human would be to see another earth native.

I think it might go something like, " I can't understand a thing you just said, and your different clothes and music, but come give me a big hug you human."

I think if we were taken away from our cultures, we would miss them, all of them. We should cherish our diversity not be afraid of it.

Exactly. WTF is wrong with us? I have this thought regularly.

Then I think, why can't we all just drop the weapons? But everyone is either too afraid, and/or power hungry.

It's like, if everyone agreed to disarming, no one really would because they're too afraid or paranoid that the other countries would keep their weapons and use them to take away their power.

Yeah, sorry, just stating the obvious. It really bums me out sometimes.
