Afraid you are mistaken, there is nothing more than normal numbers of earthquakes going on there.
Its the mag 5+ that matter, unless you get a whole bunch of 4's in the same place in one day and they are not aftershocks of a big quake.
Have a look here over the last 7 days
earthquake.usgs.gov...
also check last 30 days
neic.usgs.gov...
nothing much has changed from what it was like back in 1879 when USGS started out, except more people are becoming aware of the situation due to the Media

I don't like what I'm seeing in your post at all. Strictly by common sense mind you. All that activity on the western side of the rim of fire. With very little activity on the eastern side. That would be the western side of the
continental U.S. Canada and Mexico. What if stress is building there? We could have an earth quake the likes of
which mankind nor the earth has ever seen.

Sedimentary Rocks
Excerpt:
All the Paleozoic periods should be known now: Time Scale
As was mentioned in the introduction, one of the distinctive features sedimentary rocks is that they are stratified or "layered". Sedimentary rocks are formed through a special sequence of events. the products of weathering are the typical materials from which sedimentary rocks are made, that is ions in solution, clay minerals and resistant minerals or unweathered fragments. These materials are eroded, transported, and sedimented. They are transported by mainly by rivers, but also by the wind, waves, currents, glaciers, gravity (mudflows, landslides), etc. Then they are compacted, dehydrated and often cemented.
Sedimentary rocks make up about 75% of the surface of the continents even though they make up only a small part of the continental crust. Many times in the past the continents have been covered by shallow, warm seas which deposited thick sequences of sediments.
The environment of sedimentation can usually be determined. Sediments are deposited in a variety of depositional environments such as river channels, flood plains, deltas, sand dunes & alluvial fans as well as lakes, swamps and estuaries. Marine environments include beaches, shallow marine, deep marine, reefs, bays

Hey Z, I've been looking at the USGS 7 day map for a couple of years now. I have seen as many as 3 ea. 7.0 + at a time. I have to tell you, the map is looking very average to me.....

This winter has been milder than normal... plants are confused and growing. We reached 70 F last week then last night just at sundown temps dropped rapidly over a few hours and froze our pond...
It's just weird... like the seasons have shifted by a couple months
