Here is satellite tracking feed that gives the size in relation to overall country. I hope this puts it in perspective.

I believe the severe weather events that have been increasing over the past several decades, and will continue to increase in size and scope are due to global warming. Someone on this thread said that people are just starting to take note of severe natural disasters more in recent history, but that is a gross ignorance of history. Man has always been interested in the weather and weather events, especially how they effect us. We are noticing more of them, because there are more of them, and much more severe.

Actually the whole scene of the entire world is changing at a scale unprecedented in world history. People fail to realize to notice the drastic changes because they want to. I guess it's kinda like the old adage of the frog that was put in a lukewarm bath, and the water was gradually heated hotter and hotter until it was boiled, and it never noticed the change until it was too late.

Yes, I get your point. If you believe this, you'll find interesting that our whole solar system is undergoing climate changes. I'm not sure about this, but I've heard that two planets had totally different colors than from 10 years. This is concerning. Our future will be interesting, almost like a Hollywood movie !!

Edit: is your avatar a picture of you with a lion? If so, this has to be the most ncredible ATS avatar I've ever seen!

Gabe, to answer your question, the picture is not of me, it is of a man named Kevin Richardson who has lived with the lions in South Africa. If you are interested a found out about him listening to this podcast a little while ago:

Ok guys. Let's take a super conspirational point of view. We all know Australia has been victim of major floods for a couple of weeks now. Don't get on my case for what I'm about to say, but wasn't it predicted that the flooding of Australia was one of the precursor event of the so predicted pole shift? It is said that almost half of the country will eventually sink, along with Indonesia and some south american countries.

Let's look at the facts. A lot of countries are experiencing major flooding such as Australia, Pakistan...It all looks unusual. Now what if, WHAT IF!, it was really happening (the pole shift). Could this cyclone be just another HAARP produced event made by TPTB in order to justify more upcoming flooding in this area? I mean, it's certainly unlikely, but we all know that with HAARP and TPTB, nothing is impossible!

So what do tou think about it? Maybe it's just me, but I find that everything happening right now is odd. Animals dying all over the world, mega storm in the US, mega cyclone in Australia, huge and unusual snow accumulation in European countries, etc etc etc

As for the event itself, all my positive vibes are directed to the people suffering from these awful meteorologic conditions. I hope it's not going to be THAT bad :S

Couldn't get Australia with the GFC so we are getting payed out with floods fire and wind you reckon?

The thing that most people are not getting is that these places are not flooding, they are sinking, there is a difference !!!
This is all to do with the Pole Shift....there are plenty of maps out there showing exactly how this is happening.....

What the hell are you talking about?

I didnt say in any way that this cyclone was not going to hit. All I did was take the REAL TIME OBSERVATIONS and state that the winds recorded were not of category 5 strength, when the cyclone passed directly over Willis Island weather station. Im not saying its weaker than its been said, Im simply saying that the media is over exaggerating the wind speeds

Stop trying to put words into my mouth. I friggin work for the Bureau and all Im doing is trying to show some realistic data we are recieving from our internal network

i thought that the weather equipment was damaged and not working on willis island?. so would this not make the last readings from the equipment not the actual intensity of the cyclone

The radar was damaged, and so was the temperature sensors in the AWS. The wind anemometer was working as it crossed, and peaked at just over 200km/h

Its passed Willis Island now, and now Im looking at the sensors we have installed at Holmes Reef...the winds there at the moment are sitting around 95km/h and gusting over 120km/h. Thats 130km/h from the eye of the storm.

Im not down playing the severity of the storm, Im simply posting the real-time observations....if you have an issue with it and want to believe media, then tell me and I will find somewhere else better to post it rather than here

I will put it down to a bit of east - west rivalry then skewing your data...
...our cyclones are bigger than your cyclones.

Well I dont care about that, Im just trying to show the real data. Im not lying about the data, Im simply pulling it off our Automatic Weather Stations and posting it here

But yes, on average, the west coast cyclones are more powerful due to the larger area of warmer water, and when they track south, the majority are flung over land coriolis between Broome and Exmouth, which is a sparesly populated area

Winds on the Southern side (which is generally stronger than the northern side of the cyclone), taken from the AWS out at Flinders Reef, are winds sitting at just over 100km/h with gusts up to 140km/h

Are you serious?

Id "might" give your theory some credibility if it hadnt been for the 200mm or so rain falling in a very short period of time...how the hell is the east Coast of Australia sinking? you tell me?

Its flooding......the rain is/has been flooding the land due to the striongest La Nina event in over 30 years.....the land is not sinking into the sea. We are not Atlantis!

Thanks for keeping us posted real time with some real information Ozweatherman, I am getting sick of the Lamestream media sensationalizing this information. I am glad to have accurate up to date info from the source keep up the good work! We know its bad but bad data isn't going to help anyone. QLD
